To live near the sea but close to good town, city?

Can anyone suggest somewhere in uk where we can live near to the sea but still have close access to good shops, schools, restaurants, facilities, life?

Chichester?

South Queensferry, Cramond or Leith in Edinburgh.

Whitley Bay

Brighton

Leigh on Sea

Tynemouth/Whitley Bay.

North Berwick

North Berwick, Dunbar

Portsmouth

exeter near exmouth

Live in Formby or Southport - handy for Liverpool with all its facilities.

Liverpool

Herne bay/Whitstable (very near Canterbury)

Saltdean, Brighton. Great community atmosphere

I think it's a brilliant place to bring children up in

Whitley bay/ tynemouth.

South or West Wales, you have the balance of relatively cheap property prices, beautiful coastal towns and links into Cardiff and Swansea city centres.

For example www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-86607680.html is about 25 mins outside of Cardiff by train.

Tynemouth, Whitley Bay, or most places along the Northumberland coastline. Puts you near to Newcastle with Sunderksnd and Durham in striking distance and Scotland an easy drive away plus nearby rail and air links.

Swansea - beautiful Swansea Bay and Gower Peninsula and lively, small university city. Good house prices too!

Anywhere on the Kent coast

Here (Whitley Bay) or Tynemouth. Only 20 minutes to Newcastle City Centre. House prices are reasonable. I'm born and bred here. Worked here most of my life. Proper community spirit. Really friendly people. Good schools. I absolutely love it here. Weather isn't always the warmest, but so much else makes up for that!

Southsea (Portsmouth)

Herne Bay is very near to Canterbury. I'm in the middle of both.
