I just ordered gin via Amazon's 1 hour delivery and don't know whether to be ashamed of myself or amazed at the option

You should be ashamed you didn’t order a family sized bag of crisps to go with it.

slipperywhensparticus · 17/01/2020 19:16

With a decent tonic I hope

IHaveBrilloHair · 17/01/2020 19:19

I live in Shit town backwater without that option or I'd be ordering beer and crisps.

NicelyStarched · 17/01/2020 19:21

Edinburgh Rose & Pomegranate gin with lemonade. I drink like a pretentious Fresher cutting loose Grin

Also though, do you think you might have an alcohol problem?
Surely you still have gin left from the bottle you bought in 1995?

greatandpowerfulozma · 17/01/2020 19:22

What a time to be alive eh? Enjoy Crown Grin

NicelyStarched · 17/01/2020 19:23

Grin

I swear , nope, no problem here

There's a bottle of tequila that's been gathering dust in the kitchen since the Millenium....

God bless Amazon.

Frequency · 17/01/2020 19:28

Amazon have a what option?

I need this in my life. Do they deliver coke and fags? I might never leave the house again.

Please, please tell me this is not a London thing?

weegiemum · 17/01/2020 19:30

It's available in Glasgow too, I have done the very same thing (with crisps!).

HollowTalk · 17/01/2020 19:32

How much does it cost, as opposed to you getting it yourself from the local supermarket?

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 17/01/2020 19:33

How can they do a one hour delivery. Shock Is it by drone so they don't need to worry about traffic?

TwigTheWonderKid · 17/01/2020 19:35

It's like a grown up version of calling a taxi to bring fags in your student days!

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 17/01/2020 19:35

It would be quicker to distill our own gin than wait for an Amazon delivery here. Apparently half the time our address is inaccessible or unlocatable.. so it can take several tries to get a successful delivery.

imaflutteringkite · 17/01/2020 19:35

Never knew this was an option, off to look at gin on amazon now!

NicelyStarched · 17/01/2020 19:36

No, not in London!

If you spend over £40 it's free in a two hour window, or £3.99 for a one hour window. I think that's right. And it comes with a handy map thing. I am currently tracking my gin Shock

Result! They deliver the same day to me too. Thanks for this OP

TeaAddict235 · 17/01/2020 19:40

Do they deliver Ferrero rocher too? Got to make the order worthwhile Grin

ritzbiscuits · 17/01/2020 19:48

They do this in a number of major UK city areas. You can get a Morrisons shop delivered as part of it. Doesn't have a full range, but plenty of choice available, I can see me using this after returning from holiday and there is nothing in the cupboards.

WrongKindOfFace · 17/01/2020 19:49

Sadly they don’t do it here.

I can get Argos same day delivery, but that’s not quite as exciting.

Enjoy the gin!

Frequency · 17/01/2020 19:49

They don't deliver to me Sad AIBU to consider a move to Glasgow?

SinkGirl · 17/01/2020 19:50

Right?!

Actually Deliveroo and Uber Eats now both offer a co-op delivery where I live (not London)

SurpriseSparDay · 17/01/2020 19:51

I’ve studiously avoided finding out if this is available where I live.

I have no self control. It would be a disaster.

BigcatLittlecat · 17/01/2020 19:52

They don't deliver here!

TSSDNCOP · 17/01/2020 19:52

Those were halcyon days Twig
