Which Star Trek ship would you like to serve on?

I love Star Trek and am looking forward to the new series Star Trek Picard on Amazon next week.

I’ve been thinking about which ship I would like to serve on. Tbh it is easy, Voyager!

I’m sure I’m not the only Trek fan (I’m not a Trekkie) here. Let’s see which is the most popular vessel.

Any bloody Cardassians out there can bugger off now.

Or whispers it the writers didn't think this one through!

PureAlchemy · 19/01/2020 13:40

Maybe it’s more like a spiders egg sac than like a typical mammal womb?

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 19/01/2020 13:41

There's a lot the writers didnt think it through. Like, would an android have fully functioning genitalia?

Spiders sack. Yuck I like her even less now.

But Neelix wasn’t exactly enthusiastic about the prospect of getting Kes pregnant, was he?

Maybe she thought it might kill her chances of ever being a mum if she said “oh, by the way Neelix, Ocampas usually have litters of babies rather than just the one” 🤷‍♀️

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 19/01/2020 13:45

There is an ep of Voyager where Kes is strung up like meat in a butchers van, while Tom Paris' kid is removed from her back. Then Harry married that kid and they had kid.

YourOpinionIsNoted · 19/01/2020 13:46

In one of the time travelling episodes, she had a baby with Tom, she was giving birth stood up on wooden blocks I think, but it didn't look like it was coming out of her back, at least not that I remember! Off to YouTube...

Cross post with Tali!

Cherrysoup · 19/01/2020 14:19

Enterprise D. I can’t understand why anyone with an ounce of self preservation would go on Voyager!

7Worfs · 19/01/2020 14:26

Re Terok Nor Wink - I found the Promenade, Quark’s, the Replimat etc quite nice, and a lot less claustrophobic than a ship.

Ops and the double doors to Sisko’s office were spacious and I liked them.

One of my favourite scenes is Garak approaching Julian for the first time, that was comedy gold and so well acted.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 19/01/2020 14:58

Speaking of captains who annoy you, Sisko’s mannerisms irritated me a lot in the beginning. But he calmed down a bit

Seemed to correlate with his hair moving from his head to his face, which also seemed to instantly make him more attractive.Grin

Tinselette1940 · 19/01/2020 15:04

Banivani I can see how Swedish winters would be hard.

I too have a soft spot for Janeway

YourOpinionIsNoted · 19/01/2020 15:07

Oh yes, Sisko was much hotter with beard and bald!

51Pegasusb · 19/01/2020 15:24

NCC 1701-D for sure, my friend and I had it all planned out ( circa 1992/3) she had a thing for Data and I would marry Riker. Off to the academy we would go Grin
We'd take it in turns watching it at each others house every wednesday BBC2 6pm !

I am very much looking forward to Picard, I know someone who went to the premier showing in LA (he works in the film industry) first 3 episodes and he said it is brilliant but very slow burn.

But not to derail the thread if it could be any space ship at all, then it would have to be Serenity- there lies my heart..

Also huge B5 fan, bloody marvelous story that !

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 19/01/2020 23:31

Oh, I have another ship that I'd serve on. The NSEA Protector from Galaxy Quest. I love that film.

Jaxhog · 19/01/2020 23:34

Any...as long as I don't have to wear a red shirt.

Quite!

Jaxhog · 19/01/2020 23:34

Or anything with Worf!

BronteSisters · 19/01/2020 23:38

Voyager definitely! But not in engineering or as ex-marqis because they have the greatest number of losses and/or defectors. I'd want to stick the journey home out with the likes of Harry, Katherine and Tom!

mumwon · 19/01/2020 23:59

as for age differences Trip with T'pol she was in her 60's & pulled him! (hope for me yet! Grin)

KatherineJaneway · 20/01/2020 08:13

I wish The Doctor and Seven had become a couple. Her relationship with Chakotay was so forced.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 20/01/2020 08:16

Janeway and chakotay should've hooked up. Tis a bugger that Mulgew wouldn't allow it.

Disfordarkchocolate · 20/01/2020 08:18

As long as I'm under Picard I'd be happy to serve. Make it so Blush

banivani · 20/01/2020 08:20

Seven + Chakotay was a joke. I agree that Janeway + Chakotay (if the creators must be pairing people off) made the most sense and was the relationship that was hinted at from almost day one. Didn't know that Mulgrew refused it! Do you have a link to an interview?

7Worfs · 20/01/2020 09:03

Jaxhog why the Worf hate? Shock
He really comes into his own on DS9 and his make-up is so good he is actually hot!
And Michael Dorn is so likeable.

7Worfs · 20/01/2020 09:06

Agreed re Janeway and Chakotay, they had good chemistry when they were left on that planet alone. It’s cheesy but I liked Chakotay’s move on her (the story he made up).

Don’t get me started on Janeway and Tom mating as lizards!
