Just interested In regional variances really.

We ordered the items below for two of us. It came to £21.60

Mushroom noodles
King prawn Hong Kong style
Egg fried rice
Seaweed
Prawn toast
Hoi sin sauce

We are in South East - Hertfordshire.

What would similar cost in your area at a typical takeaway?

(It was delicious, by the way 😍)

Around £30 all dishes here are over £5, nearer to £6. IN south west
WE had Chinese for Xmas eve between 6 of us and it was almost £50

Wow - I'm lucky then!

I was thinking about the 1976 thread... mushroom noodles from the takeaway were my parents main treat..

Just priced it up from Brighton takeaway menu: £23.30 here.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 14/01/2020 20:00

Seems cheap to me, but I haven’t lived near a takeaway for a decade!

Aquestionforyouall · 14/01/2020 20:00

I couldn’t find some of those things on the menu.

I have chicken fried rice every time!!

iklboo · 14/01/2020 20:00

£18.70 - outskirts of Manchester.

ComtesseDeSpair · 14/01/2020 20:00

On Just Eat for my favourite local Chinese (which is slightly pricier than others in the area) and selecting the ‘large’ option for everything, your order would be £25.80, free delivery. I’m in south east London.

FruityWidow · 14/01/2020 20:05

Probably about £24 plus delivery

tinatsarina · 14/01/2020 20:06

DickDewy · 14/01/2020 20:07

SE - I reckon about £25

Geometricprince · 14/01/2020 20:07

bbcessex · 14/01/2020 20:07

How much would this takeaway cost you?
ClashCityRocker · 14/01/2020 20:13

Ours is just under £19, and a quid delivery. North Yorkshire.

Kebab shop takeaway is cheapest - normally feeds Dh and I comfortably for £12 or so (burgers/chicken/kebab with chips salad and sauces each) with free delivery.

Indian is the dearest locally. You don't get much change from £25 for two and that's without starters and sharing a rice and naan and no other side dishes. It's tasty though.

BrieAndChilli · 14/01/2020 20:14

£22.10 - small town in southeast wales

ClashCityRocker · 14/01/2020 20:14

Jesus £6.50 for seaweed! It's only bloody fried kale!

WitchesGlove · 14/01/2020 20:15

£26.44 plus £4.50 delivery. I’m in West London

FairyBatman · 14/01/2020 20:15

£24.40 near Manchester
