Just interested In regional variances really.

We ordered the items below for two of us. It came to £21.60

Mushroom noodles
King prawn Hong Kong style
Egg fried rice
Seaweed
Prawn toast
Hoi sin sauce

We are in South East - Hertfordshire.

What would similar cost in your area at a typical takeaway?

(It was delicious, by the way 😍)

Less than £25 here (south east near the channel). Our Chinese is so great it does a set meal for two which contains THREE main dishes and a large rice. It feeds 3 of us for........£14. I keep waiting for them to realise it’s so large.

yumyumpekingduck · 14/01/2020 20:19

@clashcityrocker dontcha know that kale is super hip right now? Grin we don't make a habit of £40 takeouts though

ClashCityRocker · 14/01/2020 20:23

yumyum very true!

I do love fried seaweed tbf... It doesn't feel like a Chinese without it.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 14/01/2020 20:24

£22.90 plus delivery in Tunbridge Wells.

bbcessex · 14/01/2020 20:24

Wow, @yumyumpekingduck (and yes, yum yum Peking duck 😂😂😂), I think your prawns must be epic for that price!

€60 ish here in Ireland I’d say for that lot

kingkuta · 14/01/2020 20:29

Around £18 but I'm in Liverpool where there are thousands of really great Chinese takeaways/restaurants so competition keeps the price down. When I lived in Surrey there was one (really crap) Chinese takeaway for miles around and they charged a fortune.

The4ks · 14/01/2020 20:32

North East Scotland, just under 20 quid I would say.
Great Chinese ten mins walk away, or 1.50 delivery when we're lazy ie most of the time!

Newcatmum · 14/01/2020 20:32

I can't find any local Chinese takeaways that sell half of your order!

We don't have mushroom noodles, seaweed or Hoi sin sauce Grin

Forcryingoutloudwtf · 14/01/2020 20:33

£19.60 for everything but the seaweed which isn't available at our local. Northern Ireland.

Sandsnake · 14/01/2020 20:34

Around £22, south west Surrey. That’s from our local (very decent but not gourmet) takeaway, collection. Not sure if delivery is extra, as we live so close that we’ve never used it.

Forcryingoutloudwtf · 14/01/2020 20:35

Sorry, £17.30 for everything but the seaweed, Northern Ireland. Added an item twice.

SouthWestmom · 14/01/2020 20:36

christmasathome · 14/01/2020 20:36
