Do you wear pants with tights?

Wore tights for the first time in forever yesterday, DH asked why pants with tights as the top bit is thicker and quite substantial (although not when stretched round my fat arse!). I thought everyone wore pants but it made me wonder? I have in the past worn them over the tights to stop the hanging crotch thing, but surely everyone wears pants or have I been doing it wrong?

Get DH to try some! I'm sure hed agree that pant underneath are a better option than all those seams sticking in no matter how thick the top bit is.
You can indeed wear knickers on top if your tight fall down, although it mist likely means the size is wrong, but always wear knickers underneath.
(I assume you meant you were wearing them underneath anyway and your H said you didnt need to as the fabric was thicker? @beingchampion )

I recently saw a pair of tights advertised on Wish which had a penis pouch stitched in and I was wondering who was wearing tights without underwear....obvs designed for your DH OP!

I have always called them pants. Have never used the word knickers (I'm 46)

I call them pants too . I am a superman style wearer of tights. One pair under one pair over to keep them up. I hate having to hoik them up.

I used to wear my PE knickers over tights at school to keep them up. It was a sad day when they fell apart, I've not found a pair that keeps them up as well since. I'm a size 6,and have to wear pants over the top or they end up by my knees.

Yes, knickers. I'm short but don't struggle with keeping tights up, so no need for pants over the top as well (which sounds weird and uncomfortable anyway). Besides, I'd end up pissing myself trying to wriggle all the layers down if I had knickers-tights-knickers.

Sorry but I find this revolting. The main symptom of thrush is foul cottage cheese like discharge and she's going about her day without pants. Yuk. And telling her friends all about it. What on earth.

Er yes you definitely need pants under tights. I got caught short without enough clean pants on a European mini break once and travelled home in tights and no pants and got pretty bad thrush as a result.

I'm glad to see that still goes on. Shared a house in London years ago and a female sharer always wore one under and one on top.

Seemed to like men as she had huge bottles of perfume; I mean huge!

Aye, Pants always under tights. 2nd pair over if you've got a rogue pair that won't stay up - nothing worse than having your tights gusset chafing the inside of your thighs, or the ripping sound or half leg lock as you go to stand up out of your office chair but you can't cos the gusset round your mid thighs only stretches so far …...

Also for me, it's always been Pants, only heard the word knickers when I'd left school and started working, so these things usually are regional (though it does get my goat now trousers/jeans/leggings etc are commonly being referred to as "Pants" in the UK).

I don't wear pants under anything - I have really bad sensory issues and I've never been able to wear pants. I wear tights every day and don't get thrush, I just put a clean pair on every morning. Snag tights are the best!

Yes to pants under rights and occasionally a pair over the top of they are getting a bit saggy. Only once have I ever worn them without and it made me so sore I never did it again.

Mine are out of stock too. I emailed them earlier in the week and they have more stock coming in next week so keep checking.

In DH's defence, not that he really needs any, I was waving the tights around and moaning of the 50 layers to remove for the loo (pants, tights, possibly 2nd pants, slip & dress) and he was trying to help.

And as an aside, I had pants when small, went to knickers in teen years then back to massive pants post children and in a male household now. I think most people are pants? Covers both sexes anyway. Are males always in pants? Wouldn't call boy stuff knickers. I suppose the american 'underwear' covers both sexes, but I use underwear to mean socks, slips and bras too. And tights...

What is good about snag tights? My issues are 34 inch legs and a soft (but slim) belly meaning that I get a line round my waist. Will they help?

When I was young I thought knickers was a bad word😂. Then in my teens I thought it was coarse. Don’t know why - don’t think anyone ever told me that.

George the snag sizing grid accounts for height and dress size, so you can buy to best fit. I love mine. I’m five eight and fat as all hell. They fit my thighs, over my backside and gut, and if I choose to do so, go far enough to tuck into my bra if I’m cold:o

To answer the OP, always underwear with the tights.

We’re an odd house, you’ll often hear people of both sexes muttering about having to go to the tumbler for a pair of pantalons. Bras are boobs. It’s a good job we never have overnight guests really, as mornings would confuse everyone.

Having just looked at the Snag site I have another thought - if you're wearing tights with boots/Converse etc, do you wear socks as well?

I actually hate tights and haven't worn any for several years, but am thinking about maybe wearing some again if I can find comfortable ones. Then I remembered how with boots the tights often bobble/snag or the boots rub, but socks seems like too much. so - what's the consensus?
