Just wondered if anyone else has been ill with a horrid bug. Cough, cold, dizziness, exhaustion, sore throat?

I've been ill nearly a week now. i thought it was going but it seems to be lingering and leaving me feeling really weak, coming in waves.

Just wondered if anyone had anything similar and if so how long it's taken to shake off!

Yes I’m off at the moment
Started feeling ill last Friday and got really bad from Sunday onwards

I’ve never had something like this last so long

I’m pregnant so can’t really be taking much to help either

4forkssake · 09/01/2020 13:43

At least a week if not longer for most of the symptoms but weeks for the cough 😷 sorry!

magicmallow · 09/01/2020 13:55

thank you. Fortunately cough seems to be wearing off already but the weakness and general sense of illness remains :(

Me too, it first started on Boxing Day and I'm still suffering despite
a kitchen worktop covered in every remedy known to Amazon online.

Have just been to the drs with mine as wasnt clearing after 2 weeks and im now on antibiotics and steroids for a chest infection.

iswhois · 09/01/2020 14:03

Yes I slept for 3 days straight then couldn't breathe laying down for a week.

magicmallow · 09/01/2020 14:06

unfortunately I don't have the luxury of much rest, LP with no help and the school run to do - has really complicated it :(

Yes since before Christmas Eve. Feel shocking I've lost my voice and my head feels like it's full of pressure my face and teeth hurt. Think mines blocked my sinuses just makes me feel sick. Not sure if it's the same bug or if I've had two back to back. Got a temperature too.
Get well soon everyone xx

listsandbudgets · 09/01/2020 14:53

Not quite but very similar - aching body, dizziness, sore throat wave upon wave of exhaustion, jelly legs combined with hideous headache and blocked nose and I feel freezing ALL the time - even under 2 duvets, 1 dressing gown, pyjamas and an electric blanket on full blast

Its miserable... oh and to cap it all it started immediately after the antibiotics I was on for an inner ear infection actually started to work so no respite :(

Whinge... whinge... whinge Grin

MirandaWest · 09/01/2020 14:57

I’ve had a thing since Saturday - sore throat, cough, general feeling of exhaustion, and feeling like my head is full of porridge. Doing small physical things is hard work. Would like it to go away.

MirandaWest · 09/01/2020 14:58

Also headache and shifting between hot and cold although not got a temperature.

mrsfeatherbottom · 09/01/2020 14:59

Not exactly the same as no cold or cough to speak of but dizziness, tiredness and waves of nausea - 3 and a half weeks and counting! GP took bloods and no sign of infection so just a virus that I have to ride out. Thoroughly fed up and suffering from cabin fever.

BiBiBirdie · 09/01/2020 15:04

Yep
Had it on and off since the week before Christmas.
Bleugh

MirandaWest · 10/01/2020 08:08

I’m definitely better than I was but the sore throat is still there. Especially this morning. Accompanied by coughing

Littlegoth · 10/01/2020 08:10

We’ve had it. It’s a horrible prolonged bug - 5 weeks for my DH, same for 2 of my colleagues, 3 weeks for me. All ended with horrific sinus and ear congestion needed a steroid spray from the docs. You have my sympathy x

Littlegoth · 10/01/2020 08:10

The sore throat was the worst, it was there every day!!

cathyandclare · 10/01/2020 08:12

YES ME! So glad to read this thread, I have been feeling very, very sorry for myself since Boxing Day. Every time I think I'm getting better, another wave of exhaustion and coughing comes. It's grim.

tmh88 · 10/01/2020 08:16

Yes me too, thought it was just stress from piled up work Monday morning after 2 weeks off but woken up this morning and my headaches worse, my throat feels like sandpaper, I’m thoroughly exhausted and I feel like I need another 2 weeks off which unfortunately is never going to happen, I’m sat here dreading the office afternoon shift Sad

MirandaWest · 10/01/2020 09:09

I’ve made it back to work but as I work from home it’s not too bad. Got an away day and night thing with work on Monday/Tuesday though which might be a bit harder

MollysMummy2010 · 10/01/2020 09:28

Mine started Boxing Day and I and to the six on Wednesday as not getting better - on high doses of steroids and antibiotics and starting to feel an improvement I think

Noducks · 10/01/2020 09:36

Same here.
Ruined Christmas. Still fighting against it. Like swimming against the tide.
Flowers for us all.

Twickerhun · 10/01/2020 09:38

Yep - since Christmas Eve - and my pelvic floor isn’t managing the constant coughing
