As a Strictly fan, I would happily cut the show right down to just the dances and the judges' scores. The gushing VTs and baby/nan warz have made the in-between bits almost unwatchable.

People who talk about clothes as “pieces” and are terribly earnest as if discussing great art. Then they post a pic of them in said pieces and I laugh inwardly. The clothes they revere look droopy and slashed and bobbled.

Most of the Olympics, except one or two events. Any adverts with sportspeople in (e.g. Santander). The Commonwealth Games, all of it.

Actors talking about anything other than acting.

astralweaks · 08/01/2020 16:21

Agree with a op - museums. Beyond awful on the dullness scale.

I LOVE Strictly and hate what they've done with the show in the last few years.

Biggest for me is choosing songs that don't fit dances, I find it infuriating.

DoctorMarten · 08/01/2020 16:26

Dusting

People moaning about being busy when they clearly think it makes them sound important.

Devereux1 · 08/01/2020 16:29

Another one for Strictly.

It was great when it really was ballroom and latin american dancing, when the outfits were beautiful, when it was about the dancing.

Then it became gimmicky, the outfits are hideous and trampy, the dancing and technique isn't as important any more.

Nothing annoys me more than looking at that talentless and overpaid woman with the long fringe over her eyes. It's like watching a dog struggle to see where to walk when all you want to do is pull the hair back off their face to everyone's relief.

Babablackship · 08/01/2020 16:31

Talks about acrylic nails, fake eyelashes and fake tan day in and day out. Work colleagues yes I am looking at you.

Nannewnannew · 08/01/2020 16:33

Other people’s holiday photos.

Mrsjayy · 08/01/2020 16:33

astralweaks · 08/01/2020 16:36

Thanks to social media we don’t have to see the physical presence of each holiday photo any longer. Phew.

Dog bores

My boss is a dog bore. She can turn any conversation around to her own or others’ dogs. It drives me fucking mental. She’s a talker anyway but the dog opinions (and she has many) go on and on. I can be backing out of the door and she’ll still be giving forth on dog-related matters. It’s so dull.

Fraggot · 08/01/2020 16:37

Child chat. ‘How many teeth is that now?’ ‘How’s he getting on with the potty?’ ‘Oh hasn’t he grown, what percentile is he now?’.

Who cares?? He’ll be an adult in a few decades, ask him then.

OnlyTheTitOfTheIceberg · 08/01/2020 16:42

Golf.

Conspiracy theorists.

My colleague's (clearly made up half the time) tedious stories - and I say that as someone guilty of being a tedious storyteller myself, but she doesn't only take the biscuit, she turns the biscuit stale the length of time it takes for her to describe every detail of her latest gastrointestinal upset.

Ardent Slimming Worlders. No, I really don't care how many 'syns' are in a Malteser.

Plumbing.

Soaps. Bizarrely my dh watches so many! Always has. As a wifely duty I keep up to date via various magazines so I can talk about them! He does the same with F1, Strictly, Sewing bee. We're retired and love spending our time together but there has to be give and take.

100% of celebrity body-posing/pouting social media posts.

The gym.

Vacuous women with nothing to talk about except other women and the gym.

My mother wittering on about people I don’t know.

Anything to do with technology.

Sport. All of it.

People who are still banging on about Brexit and how unfair/wrong/racist it all is.
