1.Any kind of sport. I cannot comprehend how men sit down and watch entire football/baseball/rugby etc matches. I’d rather watch paint dry.

  1. Politics...I am not even going to go into it. I don’t give a shit.
  2. Kids. Dullest things ever.
  3. People who talk too much about shit I don’t care about. Shut up.
  4. Other people’s dreams. I don’t care, and it was just a dream and now you are awake so shut up.
  5. Angling. Christ!
  6. Museums and looking at artefacts. Jesus!

Horse racing on tv...I remember when they're were only four tv channels and there would always be racing on one of them at the weekends.

Action films bore me to tears too.

astralweaks · 08/01/2020 14:37

Emptying the dishwasher.

People - often women - who bore on about their dreary lives.

Newish mothers who can only talk about babies and some grim birth stuff.

Hearing gossip from my DM about her friends and if I dare to do much as glance at my phone I get a huffy 'right, I just won't bother telling you anything if you're not going to listen'. fine by me

Whatsnewpussyhat · 08/01/2020 14:42

Cooking.

The school run. So bloody tedious.

ConnorRipley · 08/01/2020 14:42

The illnesses and ailments of people I have never met and will never meet.

minesagin37 · 08/01/2020 14:44

I'm in total agreement about hating listening to people's dreams. What a waste of my time!

My DH talks about kids he's been teaching that day and I think ...don't care about other people's naughty kids.

My DB repeats stories. His latest one was about an order for a kitchen worktop that was incorrect. Three times he told me that story.

Football and sports conversation in the staff room. Really dull!

PsychosonicCindy · 08/01/2020 15:08

Reading a Thomas the Tank Engine story aloud literally makes me feel like crying with boredom. Also Mr Men and any kids book that repeats phrases/rhymes over and over like the horrendous book Monkey Puzzle.
My elderly neighbours telling me in great detail about their childhoods/school days in one case the whole route they took to school (over that field...through the gate..along a track...)
Dreams for definate.
Cheap deals / offers people have got on foods I don't eat from supermarkets I don't use.

Iamthewombat · 08/01/2020 15:15

Every day he talks me through what he did in the gym last night, and what he plans to eat or not eat. One day I will crack and kill him, and when I am in jail I will say it was worth it.

This really made me laugh.

Iamthewombat · 08/01/2020 15:20

Hearing about people’s running injuries and the treatment they are having and how last year they could run a 48 minute 10k but now it’s 53 minutes and they are having physio but it’s not really doing much and their MRI scan got rescheduled and JUST BORE OFF!

I am in a running club, so perhaps I am over-sensitive to this sort of thing. Sometimes “how are you?” is out of my mouth before I realise that the question will unleash 15 minutes of ME ME ME MY INJURIES NOBODY KNOWS HOW I SUFFER AND MEDICAL SCIENCE IS STUMPED.

I am thinking of saying, “question withdrawn” next time. Do you think that will work?

Mintjulia · 08/01/2020 15:21

Football and science fiction.

I slept through all of HitchHiker’s Guide at the cinema, couldn’t help it. Someone just has to mention inter-planetary travel and zzzZZZZZ. Grin

YasssKween · 08/01/2020 15:24

People recounting stories about how "mad" they are when the story is boring AF. Especially when they leave little pauses where I'm meant to laugh. And I do it because I don't want to be a dick. So I only have myself to blame!

My favourites include

"I'm mad, me!"
"And this is me sober!"
"Can't take me anywhere!"

Extra points if they call themselves "random".

But I never let on it sets my teeth on edge, I'm not nasty. Just very impatient.

Grin

I quite like hearing about other people's dreams IF they're funny. A friend of mine regularly has incredibly detailed dreams about having failed sex in a variety of places with the men in her office, and I love hearing the latest installment. She could just be investing the dreams for humorous effect, of course. I'm not really interested in the kind of dream where the person just spent five hours wandering around their old childhood home and found a secret room full of dead kittens that were somehow still alive, though.

ArthurDentsSpaceTowel · 08/01/2020 15:31

Anything to do with WW or Slimming World, especially when you're at a pub or restaurant and it's all 'can't eat this, not allowed to touch that, how many syns/points is this...'

I experienced this once, many years ago. I never repeated it.

SoulStarS · 08/01/2020 15:33

Social media (I realise the irony in posting here) not just boring, but depressing.

ArthurDentsSpaceTowel · 08/01/2020 15:33

MintJulia to be fair the Hitch-Hikers film is utter pants.

(As my username suggests I'm quite a fan of the books. Well, the first three anyway. Grin)

Ooh, can I add Strictly? I must be the only person in the universe who really doesn't get the appeal.

MilaRos · 08/01/2020 15:37

Ironing, putting washing away, people talking about their children's school report, people bragging about how much their DP earns, overly loud people, my children's homework, making packed lunches.

You are not the only one.

There is nothing duller than the ‘wacky’ footage of the contestants and their partners going on a rollercoaster or visiting the contestant’s grandma.

Except possibly the post-dance interviews in which the contestants all breathlessly tell us how great their partner is and how he/she saw something special in them blah blah.

Lottapianos · 08/01/2020 16:08

'There is nothing duller than the ‘wacky’ footage of the contestants and their partners going on a rollercoaster or visiting the contestant’s grandma.'

Could not agree more, and I am an ENORMOUS Strictly fan who has watched every single series. I was utterly sick to death of everyone's grannies, mums and toddlers by about halfway through the last series
