Snooker

People wittering on and on about people or things I don’t know and I am not interested in. The worst of it is that politeness requires you to pay enough attention to give occasional appropriate responses so you can’t just blank it out. I feel trapped and angry.

ItsGoingTibiaK · 07/01/2020 20:27

People telling me their dreams. Absolutely cannot bear it.

DartmoorChef · 07/01/2020 20:28

Politics and people with no ambition.

Sparklingbrook · 07/01/2020 20:31

Cars. They are all the same to me. DH and DCs talk endlessly about this car, that car. I cannot see the fascination.

Cricket, Snooker, Rugby.

Cooking.

Bluewavescrashing · 07/01/2020 20:32

Politics

vampirethriller · 07/01/2020 20:33

Sport. Every kind.

workffs · 07/01/2020 20:34

Child rearing

Nordicwannabe · 07/01/2020 20:34

Someone explaining something too slowly.

ANewUsername321 · 07/01/2020 20:34

People who talk too much and take 10 minutes to say something that could have been said in 2 minutes.

Youngatheart00 · 07/01/2020 20:34

Cricket

Mandarinfish · 07/01/2020 20:35

Formula One racing. I mean they are literally driving around in circles.

Mrsjayy · 07/01/2020 20:38

DrinkSangriaInThePark · 07/01/2020 20:39

Cleaning up after the dinner.

Watching political documentaries.

Playing pool.

snappycamper · 07/01/2020 20:39

My PILs' stories about their neighbours or friends, none of whom I know. Actually my FIL just in general.

Jiggles101 · 07/01/2020 20:40

Definitely all sport. Except boxing, I can tolerate that just.

Marshymallowy · 07/01/2020 20:40

Most sport

People telling you a long story about someone they vaguely know who you've never met

Gogolego · 07/01/2020 20:40

Most of my colleagues especially when they brag and talk about themselves and I've heard them brag about the thin gin several times before

BREXIT
Golf
Cars

HearMeSnore · 07/01/2020 20:41

This! Oh My God this.

Also, auto jumbles. Went to a few with DH when he was fixing up a car. Never again. They made me want to chew my own arm off just to have something else to do.

Wigeon · 07/01/2020 20:41

My children putting on a “show” when friends come round. Absolutely can’t stand it! It’s always absolutely awful and exactly the same as all the other “shows”.

Also most sport. I also get quite bored in classical music concerts which is a bit of problem being married to a music teacher. They would be much better with a plot. And talking. And actors. And being a play instead.

Choosername · 07/01/2020 20:42

People telling everyone about their experience and background at work. I literally switch off.

Haven’t seen this in years, but horse racing. Mind numbing. Reminds me of coming home from school early before cbbc started and flicking the channels to channel4 only to find this boring shit on.

Wigeon · 07/01/2020 20:43

Also: ironing (fortunately DH has been persuaded that it can be his chore)

Nextphonewontbesamsung · 07/01/2020 20:43

Housework.

Renewing the insurance or doing anything financial.

Searching for holidays.

Sparklingbrook · 07/01/2020 20:44

Car Museums, or any transport museums really. Dead cars/planes etc. Zzzzzz. One holiday we went to a Tank Museum. Yawn.

WillowySnicket · 07/01/2020 20:46

Boilers. DH, please just make my hot water work so I can have a hot bath. I honestly don't care how that happens.

Trains.

100% agree pp children's 'shows'.

Mrsjayy · 07/01/2020 20:46

Was it in Dorset @Sparklingbrook
