Sharks are independent from birth. I always thought their mums took care of them but apparently not. Blush
Anyone else got anything they were surprised to discover.

Jelly tots are addictive! I never knew this till about half a hr ago when I opened a sharing packet ( yeah right) and I haven't been able to stop eating ' just one more ' Grin

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 08/01/2020 00:05

Sharks are fish and most (if not all) fish are left to fend for themselves from the moment they hatch

MrsJoshNavidi · 08/01/2020 00:19

I recently found out that "The Cloud" is not a cloud, it's just a load of servers storing data.
I really thought all that information was kind of floating around somewhere, ready to be pulled back to my pc as and when needed. Blush

Tillygetsit · 08/01/2020 04:34

This is ridiculous but I didn't realise that green red and yellow peppers are all the same but at different stages of ripeness. I thought they were different types like apples are. Blush

bettybattenburg · 08/01/2020 04:38

I only recently realised that it's not P-interest but pin-terest.

DownWentTheFlag · 08/01/2020 04:38

Until the recent terror attack on Fishmongers Hall, I thought narwhals were mythical creatures. Like unicorns.

bettybattenburg · 08/01/2020 04:39

I can assure they are real, I've seen a live one.

MyOtherProfile · 08/01/2020 04:39

Not always true. There is a strain of green pepper that stays green when ripe.

AlCalavicci · 08/01/2020 08:31

@Awwlookatmybabyspider sorry I have eaten them all Blush
@ParkheadParadise yes I agree but they are to sweet for me so I dont buy them often

AlCalavicci · 08/01/2020 08:35

@MrsJoshNavidi I work in one of the places that store all your data , and I assure they are nothing like a cloud .

ChristineBaskets · 08/01/2020 08:42

When you're crying and your nose runs, that's tears. Not snot. Your tear ducts drain out your eyes and also through your nose.

labazsisgoingmad · 08/01/2020 08:44

when baby guinea pigs are born they are independent they do have mums milk but they are born eyes open ready to run about and eat rather than like say rabbits who are born blind and helpless

WireBrushAndDettolMaam · 08/01/2020 08:46

That’s where the phrase “sharks are born swimming” comes from OP.

Mind = blown.

It is impossible to tickle yourself

loserssaywhat · 08/01/2020 09:12

I genuinely didn't know that pigs have teeth. My sister and I had such a laugh over my complete silliness, of course they have teeth but I saw a picture of a piglet with human like teeth and my mind was blown! Feel a bit daft about that one.

motorcyclenumptiness · 08/01/2020 10:10

Oliver Bonas, not a charity shop - who knew?!

Deathraystare · 08/01/2020 11:50

Some fish eat their offspring given half a chance. I kind of knew this already but was watching A secret life of the Zoo and the keepers had to get the fish 'fry' out of the tank and into another one for them to stand a chance and not get eaten!

HakunaMatataa · 08/01/2020 13:01

Embarrassed to share this! I only found out the other day that when you breathe out normally, your breath is warm but when you blow air out, it is cold. I was mind blown BlushGrin

schoolcats · 08/01/2020 16:03

I found out today (doing a crossword) that coconut water can be used as a substitute for blood plasma - any medics able to confirm this as I'm still sceptical.

QueenOfOversharing · 08/01/2020 16:20

A watched kettle does actually boil. Who knew? Well, I guess really stubborn, impatient people me.

Toddlerteaplease · 08/01/2020 17:26

@downwiththeflag, I did as well. Although apparently the bishop If Southwells Crozier is made of one.

Kenworthington · 08/01/2020 17:32

I thought narwhals were mythical unicorn type creatures too til a couple of years ago. How embarrassing
