Paula Yates as represented in the Michael Hutchens doc

I only caught up with this the other day and felt that Paula Yates didn't get a particularly even handed representation. She behaved badly to her ex husband and doesn't deserve any medals for that.
Apart from anything, the relationship was compressed into a couple of minutes. Their relationship was probably more high profile than lengthy but she had a child with him yet the details seemed so rushed through and there was a lot to take in.
No one spoke on her behalf. The voices of the other women were heard but it seemed that there wasn't anyone there for her so no account of what happened for her went unremarked.
The media were absolute trash to them both and the awful clip of her on HIGNFY was shown. They were both hounded so horribly.
It was all a horrible car crash but so many people were damaged and I felt sorry for her kids having to watch that 2D version of her.
I know she is and was divisive but has she or will she ever be rehabilitated?

I made a point of watching this today. It was an eye opener. I had no idea about the brain damage.
It makes more sense of the suicide especially. I think him and Paula were a bad combination and obviously things were not going well. Bob was totally right for not allowing his girls to go away with them to Australia.
I notice her friend talks about the bullshit opium, however he was a long time drug user. So was either theirs or someone they knew. I don’t think they were making good choices.

I think the reason Paula is not represented as well as his past girlfriends is that she can’t speak for herself like they can. I also notice there is no video of her so assume it hadn’t been allowed by her family.

She wasnt actually an addict from what I recall. She was also snorting heroin (which is rare in this country) which leads me to suggest she could have thought it was cocaine and had a cocaine sized line

I think I read that Tiger Lily was consulted by the producers of the film and was asked for her input, she also gave permission for some of the home videos and music used. Presumably she could have spoken up for her Mum had she wanted to, so could her sisters.

A bag of opium? did they find a pennyfarthing and a stash of exotic curiosities as well?

There's a special thanks to TL at the end. Just watched it. Really sad. The brain injury explains quite a bit I think towards suicide. Awful that he had a row with Geldof beforehand, must be hard to manage that.
Who is Erin? Was he sleeping with her as well as Paula?
