What’s for breakfast?

Supposed to be on a diet but DD has requested fish finger sandwiches for breakfast.

I’ll be making mine with healthy bread and reduced sugar ketchup.

Gosh I rarely eat the same breakfast as my kids. My daughter will sleep through breakfast and my son's at his girlfriend's. I'm on a break from my diet (lost two stone in lead up to Xmas so back on it Monday) but I think I'll have toast and an egg. Got some nice whiskey cured salmon on sale at M&S yesterday so maybe that too. Oh I'm hungry now!

Newmumma83 · 04/01/2020 07:05

I am having a mix of toast and crumpet ( one of each ) though my one year old has taken the crumpet .... I managed a bite... he is trying to help his mum out with her over eating 😂

Soft boiled Burford Browns with sourdough toast

@Pipandmum
Whisky cured salmon sounds delicious, I’ll have a look for that when we go out later. DD is 3 and we have Saturday mornings together as DP has football. DD and I do breakfast together, dance jam (DD not me) and then we do a bit of shopping.

@newmumma83 how very considerate of your little boy!

DS has Nutella on toast as a Saturday morning treat - always smells too good not to have one too! 😀

BettyJean · 04/01/2020 07:13

@Junglebells2019

Mmm, maybe soft boiled eggs and toast soldiers for lunch. I’ve got some eggs from the farmer near my mum’s. I was planning on poaching some for breakfast but DD has got me hankering after a fish finger sandwich now.

Yes, chocolate toast is a hit in our house too.

50/50 medium sliced kingsmill bread, 7g lurpak, 1 poached egg and 110g Branston beans.

And a cup of tea. Also back on the waggon. (7 old WW propoints if anyone’s interested).

Juanbablo · 04/01/2020 07:18

I might make french toast if there's enough bread left.

AnnoyingSatsumaInMyStocking · 04/01/2020 07:21

Toasted cherry sourdough with ginger marmalade, and an apricot danish, with a big mug of Christmas blend coffee. Mmm.

UnexpectedItemInTheShaggingAre · 04/01/2020 07:21

I want a fish finger sandwich! But none of the local shops had any bread!

BettyJean · 04/01/2020 07:26

@unexpecteditemintheshaggingare

Well the good thing about fish finder sandwiches are that they are suitable for any meal!

@AnnoyingSatsumaInMyStocking

Do you make the toasted cherry sourdough yourself, or buy it? Sounds delicious.

I won't eat breakfast til about noon, but it will probably be 0% fat Greek yoghurt, a scoop of raspberry protein powder and some berries.

Tinnedpeachesandcream · 04/01/2020 07:27

Am on the wagon-doing MFP-desperate to lose some weight for a big event in May. Will have blueberries, Greek yoghurt with a bit of honey, chia seeds and a cup of tea for breakfast.

Nuttyaboutnutella · 04/01/2020 07:31

Toast with peanut butter, lots of tea and coffee as DD had me up most of the night 😣

Normally have banana with it as well but I'm just about to go food shopping as not much here

DanceToTheMusicInMyHead · 04/01/2020 07:34

Full fat Greek yoghurt, a chopped banana, handful of oats and some honey. Except my 2 year old took a shine to it and ate most of it (declined the offer of his own bowl). And a big coffee.

LollipopViolet · 04/01/2020 07:45

Currently away in a hotel so will go and investigate breakfast in a bit :)

Violetroselily · 04/01/2020 07:45

Toast - 2x slices of granary bread, one with butter and one with marmalade

Latte

Banana

Enjoy your fish fingers OP, I might need to buy some next time I go shopping now that I'm thinking about them!

Chocolatedaim · 04/01/2020 07:47

Just had 2weetabix and honey and a huge cuppa.
I have to go into Westfield today and I’m dreading it, so I need the fuel!

HelenaJustina · 04/01/2020 07:52

A coffee and a run. Will end up having a small bowl of museli at about 10am.

NurseNancyandDoctorDavid · 04/01/2020 07:55

Ryvita with sesame seeds, homemade blackberry jam, glass of water, pot of coffee.

Ragwort · 04/01/2020 07:57

Maybe an orange, or some Greek yogurt with honey.

I love breakfast, it’s my favourite meal if the day. Ideally I would have a late breakfast/brunch and then one other lighter meal early evening. But that doesn’t always fit in with my work/family.

Todayisanewday75 · 04/01/2020 08:00

Flaxseed crackers with avocado and smoked salmon. About to have a second cup of black coffee

Ithinkwerealonenowtiffany · 04/01/2020 08:07

2 toast, 2 coffees and a bowl of muesli. Got a funeral at 10:30 so not sure when I’ll eat!

MerryDeath · 04/01/2020 08:14

DS has just had a piece of bread with butter and jam, as he can't wait for the toaster to toast it Hmm im defrosting some strawberries for a smoothie and a bit later we'll be having eggs from grandma's garden and fresh sourdough 👌
