@beenrumbled, you lasted longer than I did on my first attempt! Please don't be too hard on yourself. I repeated W5 R2 just to build my confidence up again, then had another go at the 20 minutes and managed it on my second go.

@redavocado, I am always torn between keeping my phone in my hand, unlocked, so I can see how much longer I need to run, and shoving it away in my pocket. I check too often if I can see it, and I get all stressed out thinking 'Surely it's time to walk now...' when I can't see it!

I won't talk about the first time I tried a 5 minute run and accidentally pressed pause when it started before locking my screen...

MrsHerculePoirot · 07/02/2020 14:38

Eventually stepped up to week 4 and felt OK! Think I’m going to do it all of next week, then we’re away for half term, so might do it again the week after but will see!

Ulysses · 07/02/2020 15:52

First run for me today since Monday and it was W6R1. I quite enjoyed it - the middle 8 minutes was a bit hard going cause it was uphill but I loved the last 5 minutes.

I do want to change my route a bit on Sunday's run but I've got more time to perhaps driver further away.

Managed Week 5, run 3. I got to about 5 mins of running and thought how the hell am I going to keep going for another 15 mins?! But somehow I did. So proud of myself. I run on a treadmill and the worst thing was the boredom!

IsolaPribby · 08/02/2020 11:23

W5R1 done! It felt good! Tired at the end, but I kept going!

CormoranStrike · 08/02/2020 11:25

W6r2 done - still finding it hard going but still doing it.

This was me today - no sign of Storm Ciara yet

Oh, and I have a running companion

W6R2 done! I went out in the afternoon, in broad daylight and in the sunshine. This is doing wonders for my confidence!
Strava tells me I did 4.14 km. My pace is still slow but I am running for the time I am told every time so that makes me very happy.
Also, by chance I realised that the lake near me which I had once had an ambition to run around but actually could never conceive of doing is now dwarfed by the route I am running! So I may incorporate it now I am out in daylight just so I can say I did it. Keep up the running everyone, proud of us all!

sovielverloren · 08/02/2020 16:34

Oh, and envious of your view @CormoranStrike!

BreastOfIntentions · 08/02/2020 16:59

Well done to you all! I'm just trying to find the motivation to do W7 R1. Just feeling so fatigued. Might go after the rugby, if I can find some energy! What a gorgeous view @CormoranStrike, and a great running companion (even if they looked unenthused in that picture 😂)

CormoranStrike · 08/02/2020 17:12

That’s my regular route, I am v lucky

myfuckingfreezer · 08/02/2020 19:21

I repeated W4R3 again today now I know I can do it. So happy with myself. Am going to love on to week 5 next week but I'm scared!

myfuckingfreezer · 08/02/2020 19:24

*move on

BreastOfIntentions · 08/02/2020 19:29

Don't be scared @myfuckingfreezer! I dithered over whether to repeat weeks or just go more slowly on the next week - went for the latter and haven't looked back. Just done W7 R1 - 25 min run in the bag! Knees are a bit stiff but otherwise all good Grin

IsolaPribby · 10/02/2020 10:48

Hearing about you all doing weeks 6 and onwards is spurring me on! I have just done W5R2, and it was ok! Will attempt r3 on Thursday, but then will have a break over the weekend, as going to visit my Mum. Depending on how I get on with r3, will either carry on after the weekend, or repeat W5R3. It just seems quite daunting to run for 20mins non-stop!

redavocado · 10/02/2020 10:59

W7R1 done. That wind is still pretty strong though and I really struggled today. Back to my usual route along the Thames next time though and hopefully that'll be flatter and easier.

I'm still putting off park run because my nearest one is 50% uphill, 50% downhill. No thanks!

Ulysses · 10/02/2020 11:52

Well done Red. I missed yesterday's run because of Storm Ciara and today we have snow so it looks like that will need to be called off too. I'm going to try and join the local gym today. I've been trying to call them to arrange an induction but it's been ringing out. It's literally around the corner from me but the snows is like a blizzard now and I really don't want to venture outdoors!

CormoranStrike · 10/02/2020 13:02

W6r3 done. I opted for the treadmill as we have horizontal snow here.

And I did it - 25 minutes of non stop running!

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 10/02/2020 13:21

I'm doing c25k again! I first did it about 5 years ago. At the time I only had time for 1 run a week, 2 on a really good week so it took me ages. I also got stuck on week 4 as the jump from week 4 to week 5 really scared me! However, I stuck to it and eventually made it to 5k. I just wanted to encourage people who are struggling to find time to do it - even if you can only manage once a week, you can still make progress...it'll just be a bit slower.

Since then, I was doing a fair amount of running and a weekly bootcamp class but then injured my knee last October so I've not been able to do much at all. I thought c25k would be a good way to ease myself back into it. Also, DP is doing it for the first time so I'm doing it with him for moral support.

This time I am managing 3 runs a week so doing it "properly" and really loving it! Up to week 5 run 2 now and looking forward to a longer stretch of running.

@IsolaPribby Stretching afterwards is best. Your warm up walk will get your legs ready for the run. Do some quad and hamstring stretches afterwards. A nice warm bath should help too! It's totally normal for your legs to ache at first but they will get better.

katzenellenbogen · 10/02/2020 13:22

Wow - you are all surging ahead!

W3R1 today. I was dreading it - especially after a false start very early when I went to the car only to realise it was raining a lot harder than it seemed from the kitchen window. Waited it out and bit the bullet when it had eased to a drizzle.

Didn't think I could possibly do the three minutes, but I did. Quite looking forward to Wednesday now.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 10/02/2020 13:23

@IsolaPribby Sorry! Just realised that I was responding to your comment from page 1 and you are miles (literally...Grin) further on now!

frustratedashell · 10/02/2020 20:48

Did Week 6, run 1 yesterday. I put 1% incline on treadmill and up the running speed a wee bit. Did it all ok. Pleased with my progress

MrsHerculePoirot · 10/02/2020 20:50

Well done everyone! I did W4R3 today. Going to stick with W4 on Thursday, then skiing for the week and might repeat for first couple of runs back. Was v windy today!!!

beenrumbled · 11/02/2020 15:17

Repeated WK5R2 last night, and will do the same on Wednesday - it was cold and windy and I had to argue with myself the whole way through the last 8 minute run. Grin

sovielverloren · 11/02/2020 19:54

I feel AWESOME! I've just done W6R3 -25 mins run without stopping! Possibly my slowest one yet which I did not think was possible, but I feel it was a massive achievement. I have followed the plan exactly and at this point Sarah M could say anything and I'd believe I could do it!
