Hoof - I'd been lusting after a Moleskine diary for years, and finally bought one last year. Ended up hardly using it as the paper is so thin that my fountain pen ink goes straight through it. :(

My usb battery pack! Saves me when I run out of phone battery out and about

My iPod player in my old car. I miss it!

fastliving · 01/01/2020 23:46

Anyone seen any good deals for a robot vacuum cleaner? I need one in my life!

MrsEricBana · 01/01/2020 23:56

No contest, my beloved dog.

TheCountessatHotelCortez · 02/01/2020 00:02

Lately it has to be my google home hub, totally love that I can just do everything with my voice! I made roast potatoes using a recipe before which it read out to me step by step! I also have a nest thermostat and smart bulbs all connected and can switch on/off by voice! The best feature though is being connected to my children’s mini so I can broadcast messages to them in other areas of the house! Life changer!

@ohthetastynuts snap! Had no idea when I ovulated and ones month with those sticks and I'm now 2 months pregnant!

Tempur super king bed and mattress

Mine is a Northface black, lightly padded jacket that is so warm, light and flattering, that I bought in January 2018.

I've worn it almost constantly in the cold months since and tried to find a Northface alternative this winter, only to find all the size mediums are now tiny on me ☹️ I'm assuming they've changed manufacturers and I have had to disregard Northface now 🤷‍♀️

Has anyone mentioned salt lamps can be dangerous for pets? Confused

ReadyPayerTwo · 02/01/2020 00:54

Oh and Burts Bees tinted lip balm!! Shops seem to sell only the basic lip balm so you have to order it online, but it's only £4.

I used to wear £20 or so Mac and Lancôme lip gloss etc, but friends always commented when I wore Burts and went on to buy some as well.

It seems to give colour but plump up your lips as well - don't know how but it seems so much more flattering than anything else out there!

Hot water bottle

My horse. Exercise, therapy, social life, discipline, off road vehicle, companion, all rolled into one.

A foot long vintage brass crocodile nut cracker (ebay £20)
A beautiful hand knitted chunky cardigan from a jumble sale (20p)
Mantana Prayer plant (garden centre £5), love watching it's leaves move throughout the day
Lakeland heated airer

RussellTheLoveMuscle · 02/01/2020 01:11

*Maranta prayer plant

GeriAtric · 02/01/2020 06:42

Can anyone tell me a good place to buy authentic salt lamps? I was looking at Amazon but I don't know if that's the best place or not. I don't always trust the vendors and some have reviews about the lamps burning.

Obligatorync · 02/01/2020 06:49

My cat.
A mountain warehouse backpack. I bought it in 2000 as a student for £12 for a weekend away. I remember feeling so guilty because I knew if I could be bothered to walk further into town I could get one cheaper. Grin
I worked out that if I used it on several such weekends it would pay for itself.
It's been used by me all around the world, and DH has used it for work every day for at least 10 years. It still has a little splodge of coral nail polish on the khaki from me circa 2002.

Obligatorync · 02/01/2020 06:50

@RussellTheLoveMuscle please may I see the nutcracker?

noodlezoodle · 02/01/2020 07:56

California King bed and really smooth egyptian cotton sheets. (Has unfortunately ruined all other beds for me).

Hot air brush - I am utterly incompetent at blow drying my hair with a brush and hairdryer but even I can use this to make it look like I've been to the hairdressers.

Oral B glide floss picks. So easy to use that I actually do floss twice a day and no longer need to shiftily reply to my dentist when they ask how often I floss.

Kindle paperwhite - hundreds of books on tap and a backlight so I can read in the dark without disturbing my husband or fellow plane passengers.

Pizza scissors. A million times better than those annoying pizza cutting wheels.

Popsocket. Yes they look ludicrous but has reduced the regularity with which I drop my phone by about 95%.

Wusthof chef's knife. Scarily sharp but makes it really fast and easy to prep almost any dinner ingredients.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 02/01/2020 08:29

Well the instapot comes high up the list! As does the Lakeland heated airer.
I'm going to give an honourable mention to my popcorn maker too. That's come in very handy with my children! They'll probably say the slushie maker they got for Christmas though! It's a modern day Mr Frosty except it's good.
I'd say my cat, but we didn't exactly buy her. It was more of a forced donation to Cats Protection League. Besides, I think after 15 years I think she owns us now!
Top buy? Memory foam topped mattress. So incredibly comfortable, has really helped my fibromyalgia.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 02/01/2020 08:31

I too wish to see the nutcracker.

bsc · 02/01/2020 09:33

@PenguinsOnParade pleas tell me more about:
Metal shelf things which slide onto the kitchen shelves to give extra space underneath. I have one for baking trays and one for chopping boards.

Such as where they were from please?

Dowser · 02/01/2020 09:41

My first IPad...which wasn’t a patch on this now 3 years old iPad
It opened a window on the world that I want to be part of.
I can’t believe I used to lug a lap top backwards and forwards to Florida.
I take my iPad everywhere with me.
Then I got my iPhone...double joy.
I know a lot of people don’t like apple products but they keep things simple for me and I need that

Then I changed my car last year..still got a Toyota which I love..but only 5 years old this time..and it practically fits me like a glove.
It’s been 4 years today since my husbands stroke which left me the only driver. I was driving his toyota which is a bit high for me and my old clunky Toyota. This one fits like a glove..woman and her machine. I do all the long distance driving , couple of trips to dorset and Wales twice a year..6-7 hours drive..I need to feel safe and comfortable and this car fits the bill.

Dowser · 02/01/2020 09:49

I got rid of my salt lamps..I have cracks in the plaster at the side of my windows
I swear they were pulling the moisture out of the wall.
Maybe just be careful where you put them
