@Hefzi sensible ways and about 2 years generally before I became pregnant.
Didn't diet. Just created a more sensible balance in my life
I had therapy and addressed the reasons I got that big in the first place
I learnt to love myself as I was. All 21 stone of me. It was one of the most important things. You can't look after something and care for it if you hate it.
I found exercise that I enjoyed and I started gently and gradually built up
I didn't restrict any food. I accepted that after years of dieting this meant I would go a bit mad to start with. I did. Then it started to settle. Intuitive eating books helped.
I read the goddess revolution and I unfollowed all the fitness stuff I had on social media. I followed people like bodyposipanda and Mel Wells and Rhitrition and yrfatfriend.
I shifted my focus away from weight loss. I focussed on what I wanted my whole life to be like. Ate more veg less meat naturally and experimented with lots of new recipes (I've always enjoyed cooking).
Honestly I became happy as a bigger person. I lost weight quite naturally after that because my body adjusted to me not binging and moving more. It wasn't the giant effort that had always been when dieting. I was kinder to myself and didn't end up in a spiral of failure.
