Just that really? Any other households where the men do the cooking? My dad always did dinner too! Hubby is by far a better cook!! Happy Christmas 🎄

PsychosonicCindy · 25/12/2019 12:51

Yep dh always does the Christmas dinner he's a dab hand.
And this year ds12 even prepped all the veg good lad ❤❤

TheFabledSnake · 25/12/2019 12:52

Mine too. He loves cooking a huge meal and I normally cook during the week so I get to rest and play with our 4 year old

sue51 · 25/12/2019 12:52

We are sharing the load. I've just peeled and parboiled the spuds and he's doing the rest of veg. I've prepped the turkey and he's doing the lamb. The DD can sort out the table.

Heismyopendoor · 25/12/2019 12:53

I made some bits yesterday as I’m not feeling well and have been getting worse so knew I wouldn’t be able to do much.

So DH is in charge today. He’s cooking some gammon and chicken, the veggies and then the roasties & pigs in blankets I bought prepared ones so he just need to bung em in the oven and then serve along with the stuff I made yesterday.

I will make the gravy though, he can’t manage that 😂😂

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 25/12/2019 12:56

@Backofthebunty what lovely sons you have, and what happy memories. Happy Christmas to you all.

DH is always head chef here (I can cook, but like PPs he has taken it on in exchange for me doing other house/Christmas stuff and it works for us). DD2 is hovering picking up tips, though, so I suspect she may take on more of a role in years to come. DD1 and I are happy to eat and tackle the clean up.

DeeCeeCherry · 25/12/2019 12:56

DP does the Christmas cooking every year. He cooks more than me generally anyway, he's better at it than me by far

AJTracey · 25/12/2019 12:57

Yes I don't cook, he loves it

Butterymuffin · 25/12/2019 12:58

Mine! He's the better cook and likes to do it.

@Backofthebunty that's lovely. Merry Christmas to you and your boys and Wine in memory of their dad.

Soubriquet · 25/12/2019 13:00

Yep!

I don’t cook. He wouldn’t trust me to cook either Xmas Grin

So I get a cooked lunch...and he cleans up too as I don’t do a good enough job Crown Wink

NameChangeNugget · 25/12/2019 13:00

Of course. He loves cooking and I get to play with the grandchildren. Sorted Wine

Alittlebitofthis · 25/12/2019 13:00

Mine is! He's a chef so a much better cook!

goodiegoodieyumyum · 25/12/2019 13:01

Mine is, he has already made the traditional Danish rice pudding for dessert, it's the first time in years we have had our main meal Christmas day instead of Christmas eve.

vdbfamily · 25/12/2019 13:02

married to a German who likes coming. came back from work last night at 6.30 too full Christmas dinner. Unfortunately at the same time our dishwasher refused to drain and flooded floor so spent rest of r evening washing up and clearing up kitchen! Of to my brother's today so no cooking for me at all this Christmas!!

Mulhollandmagoo · 25/12/2019 13:07

We're at my mum's this year, but previously whenever we've hosted my husband is the main chef!! He's much better with a turkey than me, I just assist wherever needed! I bloody love a man who cooks 😍

OublietteBravo · 25/12/2019 13:09

Yes - DH does the cooking. I’ve never cooked a roast of any kind in my entire life. Today I’m on vegetable prep and washing up duty. The DC are contributing by table setting and tea making.

Allyg1185 · 25/12/2019 13:09

My dh does 90% of the cooking in our house. I will help clear up. Teamwork

FrenchyQ · 25/12/2019 13:09

Husband is doing the turkey and I do the trimmings

Tableclothing · 25/12/2019 13:10

Yes, he's doing the lot. Well, I set the table.

Gogreen · 25/12/2019 13:13

Yes, he is so much better than me at it, I’m better at playing with the kids toys, watching tv and drinking Grin

WolfOfOdin · 25/12/2019 13:13

My husband has cooked our last 12 christmas dinners, I just clean up later
