Now watching with ds2 and my Mum... Absolutely loving it.... I never read it to ds2 who's 23 now.... He says it was read to him at school...Loving the Robbie Williams song.
What a lovely tribute to Judith Kerr...

OMG it was amazing! I wanted to cry 😢 it brought back so many happy memories. Watched it with ds age 11. I thought they did it beautifully.

ByAppointmentTo · 24/12/2019 20:29

It was fantastic! It was really well done.

ZootSuit · 24/12/2019 20:31

Really enjoyed it here too, kids were both mesmerised from start to finish Smile

JayAlfredPrufrock · 24/12/2019 20:31

Fabulous

Sparklingbrook · 24/12/2019 20:32

I thought it was great.

daisypond · 24/12/2019 20:32

Agree. Fantastic.

Saltdoughmuncher · 24/12/2019 20:32

My DS loves the book but to be honest I wasn’t impressed with it. I turned it off half way through and yet expected to love it!

Aragog · 24/12/2019 20:32

We enjoyed it here. No children - dd is 17y - but the adults liked it.

And so much more gentle and less traumatic than Going on a Bear Hunt from three years ago. We've still not recovered from that.

BloodyCats · 24/12/2019 20:33

Haven’t watched it yet but I love the book! Brings back happy memories of reading to my babies.

Does Gobbie Williams spoil it with his warbling?

daisypond · 24/12/2019 20:35

Bear Hunt was spoiled for me with that adaptation. I hated the back story element.

Sparklingbrook · 24/12/2019 20:35

No Robbie Williams does a fine job.

Elderflower14 · 24/12/2019 20:36

Robbies singing didn't spoil it at all imo...

I used to read this every night to ds and dd (now 14 & 11). They weren’t so impressed by it but I absolutely loved it.

WineIsMyCarb · 24/12/2019 20:40

Just watched it with preschool DC. Adored it. Beautifully animated and wonderfully gentle, but still engaging. Fab music (and I'm not a Robbie fan). 10/10!

Michelleoftheresistance · 24/12/2019 20:40

We loved it. Beautiful use of her illustrations, loved that they didn't mess with it or modernise it, it was exactly the style of the book.

festivefrustration · 24/12/2019 20:42

Ahh it was bloody lovely!! Absolute favourite book as a child. My kids thoroughly enjoyed it too.

dannydyerismydad · 24/12/2019 20:46

I was terrified. I didn't expect him to be so snappy and growly

FinTutuola · 24/12/2019 20:50

It is my two year old’s favourite book and we let her stay up to watch it - she didn’t take her eyes off the screen the whole time and cried when it was over because she wanted to watch it again. It was lovely Smile

MinesaPinot · 24/12/2019 20:51

Thought it was tedious TBH.

LadyLindaT · 24/12/2019 20:51

Absolutely loved it!

IdblowJonSnow · 24/12/2019 20:52

Really enjoyed it and so did my dh and 2 kids Xmas Smile

Sweetpotatoaddict · 24/12/2019 20:53

Missed it! Is it available on 4 od??

thismeansnothing · 24/12/2019 20:57

Absolutely loved it.

I'm also glad to hear that after a few years reading it almost daily, both me and DH had the voice of the tiger bang on!

Yoollyball · 24/12/2019 21:01

I thought it was a bit boring in the middle. Though it made dd1 feel nostalgic as she suddenly remembered the story.

Thesearmsofmine · 24/12/2019 21:04

We loved it. All three of my boys have loved the book(youngest 3 so still loves it) and they all really enjoyed it.

I am not a Robbie fan but his song was good.
