Yes I feel like shit too. We’re hosting the in laws and a couple of uncles and we have 2 small dc. Feeling very sorry for myself. I just want to sleep!

HowlsMovingBungalow · 24/12/2019 12:54

It is shit @Cuckoo. Can you sneak off to sleep for a bit? The thought of cooking any food let alone eating it ...

LBOCS2 · 24/12/2019 12:55

Yep. Started feeling ropey yesterday afternoon, by dinner time I was on the sofa under a blanket and in bed by 8.30. I'm still feeling crap but keeping it at bay with lemsip as I've got quite a lot to do. Ugh.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 24/12/2019 12:59

I'm mainlining fizzy water and painkillers every 4hrs.
Feel for you who have to host today and tomorrow. It is the pits when you are ill over Christmas.

Yep - I broke some vertebrae in my back in a car accident last week so am stuck flat on my back in pain. To top it off my hamster died this morning and is starting to smell and I need to wait for DH to get home to sort her out. Crown Sad

Ghoulestofmums · 24/12/2019 13:04

Yes - got shingles. Grr.

Redcrayons · 24/12/2019 13:06

Me. Stinking cold, I'm losing my voice and Im so tired because I can't sleep for coughing all the time.
I haven't wrapped any presents yet and the house is a tip. DCs are going to have a busy afternoon. Grin

BarkandCheese · 24/12/2019 13:09

Not me but DH, he’s got some kind of stomach upset which I really hope is food poisoning from the Chinese buffet restaurant we went to yesterday, not a contagious bug. He’s starting to rally but I wouldn’t be surprised if he stayed at home tomorrow rather than came to my mum’s with DD and me.

MustardScreams · 24/12/2019 13:10

@Frariedeamin bloody hell! Puts my virus into sharp perspective. I hope you heal up as quickly as you can, and I’m sorry about your hamster Sad Flowers

HowlsMovingBungalow · 24/12/2019 13:10

@Frariedeamin - Oh you poor thing! Hope your dh is home asap.

Broke my wrist aweek ago. Attempting to cook Christmas lunch one handed could be interesting!!

starlightmagic · 24/12/2019 13:16

Yep, bad cough, temperature etc managed a few hours at work today then staff sent me home! Can’t take anything for it either as I’m 25 weeks pregnant

ElloBrian · 24/12/2019 13:17

Not yet but EVERYONE else is and I’ve been trying to ward it off for a couple of weeks now. I suspect that it is inevitable that I will pick it up though sadly.

WorldsOnFire · 24/12/2019 13:19

I’ve got HG (6 months pregnant) have been sick as a dog until a few weeks ago and now just constantly up and down. One minute feel ok the next awful.

(Anyone doesn’t know what HG is it’s essentially noro virus for months at a time- but it’s ‘ok’ because you’re ‘just pregnant’ 😬)

Waiting to see if I get any Christmas dinner 🎄

jaggynettle · 24/12/2019 13:19

Me. Stinking cold and possible chest infection. Haven't managed to do my DD's Christmas Eve box. House is a shambles. Only done half the wrapping. Had to cancel plans for the ballet this afternoon. Wallowing in self pity but can take comfort that it'll hopefully only last a few days.

Blinking typical it's over Christmas though - my only decent run of annual leave and have spent most of it laid on the sofa.

CurrerBell1979 · 24/12/2019 13:36

not me (yet) but my husband has a nasty stomach bug :(

We were meant to fly to my hometown this morning to spend Christmas with my family but could not go :( (are not in UK)

its a 5 hours drive and no other flight until after Christmas so we are staying home, but all the rest of my family had already traveled back to my hometown so I am a bit upset missing Christmas with my parents, siblings and nephews
It would have been the first time everyone were together at Christmas

sorry for the rant, just feeling sorry for myself, while poor DH is sick
not very nice of me!

notangelinajolie · 24/12/2019 13:37

Yep, just got out of hospital and I'm on strict bed rest for a week. Meanwhile, DH is at work and our 3 adult DD's who will be here for Christmas Dinner tomorrow are nowhere to be found. M&S profiteroles are sold out and my trifle bowl has a big crack down it. So it looks like pudding tomorrow is jam roll and squirty cream with a cherry on top. I have one bag of potatoes to feed 7 and as yet no sprouts. Even cheese and biscuits is off the menu because we have no biscuits.
It's heading for 2pm and it hasn't occured to any of them that I might need to eat. No breakfast yet - not even a cup of tea. The silence in this house is deafening, it's like the bloody Marie Celeste.

And I guarantee the only person not to have any presents under the tree tomorrow morning will be me. Bastards the lot of em Angry ((((sobs))))

Justonedayatatime11 · 24/12/2019 13:54

House of Noro here. DD got it Friday pm, DH yesterday and me this morning. Packed DD off to her Dads for Christmas which I'm really struggling with but it's probably best for her. Christmas is officially cancelled in our house Sad

Happynewdecade · 24/12/2019 13:56

I'm poorly but chronic conditions so not unusual for me. I was hoping this would be the first Christmas in a long time I'd be celebrating but not meant to be. (Un)fortunately I live alone so can forget about Christmas. I won't be in many peoples thoughts either. Thinking of you all that have tough days tomorrow

pelirocco123 · 24/12/2019 14:01

Yep
Me and DH and 11 for dinner tomorrow
And a shit tip house

EnidButton · 24/12/2019 14:06

You're in my thoughts Happy Flowers

I have a chronic illness so poorly every day. It's on a scale of 'absolutely awful/can't get out of bed' to 'feel ok for a few hours' so hopefully tomorrow is a good day on that scale. Staying at home with DH so no travelling or stress so should be ok.

Those of you who are temporarily ill, remember to take time to rest and look after yourselves. Don't push it if you feel like shit. Your health is more important. Hope you get well soon OP Brew

Butterbeeeen · 24/12/2019 14:26

Sinus infection here. After 2 weeks of that god awful flu that is going around. Hefty dose of antibiotics and painkillers and an emergency doctors appointment were not on my xmas agenda but hey ho.

JustASmallTownCurl · 24/12/2019 14:28

Yep. Epilepsy and had a big seizure today so won't be able to walk tomorrow!

Luckily I've already decided to have Christmas all to myself this year, just got tomorrow. Going to do, eat and drink whatever I like and pamper myself rotten!

Plus my family are doing their Christmas Day together (they love Christmas bless them but understand I need this year off because it's always brought bad luck for me recently) which means no flashing Christmas lights for my epilepsy brain to contend with!

So I'm very sore but still looking forward to my quality time with myself tomorrow Grin

Sorry to hear other people are feeling shit too, I hope everyone feels a little better soon!

dancemom · 24/12/2019 14:32

Poor dd is sick 🤒
She has managed to have a chest infection and a urine infection at the same time!
But the antibiotics have given her a reaction and she's been throwing up since 3am.
So Christmas is officially cancelled in our house 😩

Happynewdecade · 24/12/2019 14:33

Thank you @enidbutton I hope you and your dh have a peaceful and enjoyable day

It's hard to admit I care about being alone and unwell because it is easier to just ignore it but onwards we will go
