I feel like crap - some viral thing - sweats, headache, haven't kept any food down since Monday. Can't sleep but knackered

That's Christmas day fooked then ( no DC thank god just me and DP ).

Sinusitis, middle ear infection, perforated eardrum and can't hear at all in that ear. Rarely get sick, so this is all most unwelcome. On antibiotics so can't even drink.

Very un-Mumsnet hugs and get well wishes to us all! Flowers

My youngest (5) had viral tonsillitis last week gave it to me and I got quinsey (sp)! Hopefully will be able to eat some dinner tomorrow!

So on top of my own HG - DH (very rarely unwell) has come home with ‘The virus’ that’s doing the rounds.
He’s really miserably unwell (passed out in bed already) and MIL has messaged to say BIL also has it (all supposed to be spending day together tomorrow) and still the plan 🙄.

Last year MIL had an awful cold and we all ended up catching it.
I’m laid here panicking as I’m on meds that’s make me more susceptible to bugs and illness so have been told to ‘be careful’ and if I catch this it’s gonna knock mine and bumps ‘recovery’ back to square one! 😭

Why is some ALWAYS sick at Christmas? Every sodding year!

DD13mo has a horrendous chesty cough and wheeze. Got her checked out by GP yesterday who said that he chest wasn’t clear but that it’s likely vital so just got to ride it out. She’s been a trooper most of the day, but miserable when a coughing fit hits.

Precautions have been taken to ensure that Mummy and Daddy get some sleep - Calpol plug in, baby Nurofen, raised cot, white noise on continuous instead of sleep sensor. She’ll be up at 5 either way, but if she wakes beforehand DH will be evicted from the bed so she can come in with me (and probably kick me for hours but hey, at least I’ll be in bed).

Good luck to all who are ill/have ill and ratty tiny people....

Thanks @JustASmallTownCurl at least I'm free at the weekend so she should be better by then.

TheFairyCaravan

I have the same, but was seen in 20 mins so back home feeling sorry for myself. Bloody painful.

FelicityMarbles · 24/12/2019 21:01

Chest infection.
Antibiotics and steroids.
Just want to sleep.

PositiveLife · 24/12/2019 21:12

Yep. Started Thursday with temp & vomiting. Turned into earache/sinus/sore throat. Then turned into a hacking cough. Now coughing, snotty, can't hear properly. Fed up with it.

BoyfriendCoatBigScarf · 24/12/2019 21:12

Nothing compared to most on here, but I've got a weird cold thing that keeps coming and going, and the main symptom is a weird taste somewhere between the back of my mouth and the front of my brain.

I had that last week! Was horrible.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 25/12/2019 14:38

Boyfriend horrible, isn't it? I really hope the virus is benefiting from that particular symptom, would hate to think we're both suffering mothball-brain-taste for no reason.
