Not sure what I want to drink on Christmas Day! Going to brave the supermarket tomorrow for some alcohol as we haven't bought that yet.

What are you drinking?

Bump!

Prosecco, Gin & Tonic, Wine (both red and white) and maybe some Bailey's.

Khione · 23/12/2019 22:06

@GooGoo5 I have exactly the same - with the addition of a half bottle of vodka - Oh and the Baileys is fake a cheap supermarket alternative.

serialnc · 23/12/2019 22:08

What ever has alcohol in. Not having Xmas.

Ragwort · 23/12/2019 22:08

Errrrr .... same as most evenings, Sherry, wine, Prosecco. Never buy anything ‘just for Christmas’ as we always have plenty of choice in the fridge Blush.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 23/12/2019 22:09

I don't drink a lot but quite like rose lemonade (fentimans) with the rose and pomegranate gin from lidl.

My dd has some salted caramel bailey's.

We have some fizz left from our civil partnership ceremony so might feel moved to open it.

theneverendinglaundry · 23/12/2019 22:09

Bucks Fizz gets opened at around 10am, then prosecco with Christmas lunch, maybe a few beers or G&Ts, wine in the evening. Baileys to round things off before bed.

ReginaGeorgeous · 23/12/2019 22:10

SIL and I are making cocktails on Christmas night so I've got rum and mixers for those. I also have prosecco and a few bottles of wine for the day as I'm hosting most of the extended family. Coeliac DH will be on cider.

SinglePringle · 23/12/2019 22:10

Whatever gets me through TBF.

Is it over yet?!

SinglePringle · 23/12/2019 22:12

(To add, it’s me and two elderly parents. One who doesn’t drink and the other only likes Blue Nun).

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/12/2019 22:17

I don't tend to have much, but I'll have Prosecco with lunch and then some white port or Baileys (or both) in the evening.

DeRigueurMortis · 23/12/2019 22:46

Cocktails to start - raspberry/espresso/cranberry martinis are on offer from midday.

Then (very nice) wine with the meal that we eat at around 2pm. I've got a white Sancerre with the starter, a red Fleurie with the main and a dessert wine. Port with the cheese.

Dinner is leisurely and takes 3/4 hours.

Finally we'll open a bottle or two of Champagne to end the day.

Sounds like a lot but there's quite a few of us and we all pace ourselves over the day with lots of soft drinks/sparking water on offer and generally only have one of each drink as listed above.

The aim is always to enjoy the taste of what we drink rather than get drunk (though a mild alcohol buzz at the end of the evening before bed is not unwelcome!).

PhilomenaChristmasPie · 23/12/2019 22:49

Sainsbury's Taste the Difference London porter. I've been drinking it since the kids broke up on Thursday. That's when Christmas officially starts in our house.

Fraggling · 23/12/2019 22:50

Everything.

Huh

Fraggling · 23/12/2019 22:50

HTH should be 😁

Fraggling · 23/12/2019 22:51

What do you fancy? Have that.

Ohyesiam · 23/12/2019 22:54

I’ll have one port with a mince pie Christmas Eve, then from longtime I’ll be drinking Moët. I generally only have it at Christmas, and luckily only dh and I like itXmas Wink

countdowntochristmas · 23/12/2019 22:55

Hopefully my cold will be better tomorrow so I can enjoy a drink as have some nice white wine plus gin. Xmas Grin

VaguelySensible · 23/12/2019 22:58

Advocaat. Preferably 'drizzled' Wink over ice-cream. Or cake. Or ice.

ccx1 · 23/12/2019 23:03

I'm thinking gin & lemonade and baileys.

Wine gives me the most terrible headache! I'm also partial to a cider or two.

Lonelykettleshed · 23/12/2019 23:06

Lime and soda, sparkling water, Diet Coke and maybe some alcohol free 'gin' that I picked up at food fair. I don't normally drink alcohol. Not the most inspiring selection I'm afraid.

AdaFromYorkshire · 23/12/2019 23:16

Lemon and ginger tea. Yes, I'm really boring.

Titsywoo · 23/12/2019 23:18

I've got some Pol Roger champagne to start with tomorrow (enough for 2 glasses per person) then will have a few proseccos. That'll do for me as I don't drink much. Tomorrow is our big meal with family and friends as we hibernate at home with just the DCs on Xmas Day itself and I won't drink at all then.

Biancadelrioisback · 23/12/2019 23:24

Bucks fizz in the morning, followed by prosecco when the first wave of guests visit, probably some more with the second wave. A gin or two before dinner. Wine with dinner and cider in the evening.

ParkheadParadise · 23/12/2019 23:27

Champagne
Brandy
Whisky
Wine
Diet Coke
