Its my first day of leave until the 6th Jan and probably my only day child free.

Im actually looking forward to going into town and doing a few last bits. I never get into town. Ever. Its like a rare treat!

And also getting my hair cut.

And just being alone for 6 hours!

7pm when I will be home from work. Then it's several hours of hoovering, laundry and cleaning the kitchen and tidying the bookshelves for me!

Plus writing my last grocery list for the big pre-Christmas supermarket raid which will happen first thing Saturday.

Can't wait to get stuck in. My three DDs who live out of town are descending on me for Christmas and I have a mountain of bedding to prepare.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 20/12/2019 06:19

Works Christmas drinks. Early office close then into a nice bar for a few hours.

LatentPhase · 20/12/2019 06:21

Getting home later with the boyf, glass of wine and planning last bits of Christmas prep... and three day weekend - yay!

AreWeAnywhereNear · 20/12/2019 06:22

I will be on my own for a whole 5 hours, I will wrap all the presents, change the beds, tackle the pile of paperwork and file my tax return.

I'd actually like to sit on my arse and drink tea or go mooch round the shops but I won't...actually I might sit once I've done a few of my jobs.

Teagoanngoanngoann · 20/12/2019 06:23

Oooh happy hols. I have a list of things to do for other people... (DS ...mum could you drive me to work tomorrow then take my car for MOT and pick it and me up again?) Then taking my DM for her xmas food shop. Planning to stop at Costa in between. Might download a new book n take it with me. Switch my phone off and spend an hour alone (so to speak) with a nice coffee and a sugary treat.
Enjoy your day x

Sounds like we all have some nice things to look forward to.

Is it too early to ship DS off to school lol

I'm looking forward to having the kids (14 & 19) home and getting some last minute Christmas decs up. Daughter will have friends over and they'll end up making Christmas sweets and watching Christmas Romcoms, later on big lad will go and take my Mum shopping. I'll chill out and enjoy a long bath etc ... I don't buy into the stressing out for Christmas game.

cjt110 · 20/12/2019 06:34

@pinkyboots1 me neither. I fully intend to be out most of the day. Alone. And will enjoy my usual carrotcake and a brew in the car before i pick the boy up from school.

Itching to get on.

Only problem being wide awake at 5am! It already feels about 8.30!

My colleague handing his notice in. No more sat opposite a food slurping, snivelling, cocaine using little angry man.

Merry Christmas to me.

Ellapaella · 20/12/2019 06:35

The kids break up from school after lunch today so I'm taking a half day at work. Can't wait to pick them up full of excitement for the Christmas holidays. We'll take the dog to the beach and go for hot chocolate and cake. We have a lovely weekend of panto and family stuff lined up as well so I'm excited too!
Im present wrapping tonight.

Cupcakegirl13 · 20/12/2019 06:37

First day of school hols here , looking forward to no school runs and some chill time with the kids.

Bickles · 20/12/2019 06:37

Harry Potter studios tour with DS and DH Grin

darkriver19886 · 20/12/2019 06:40

I am dragging myself out of bed to support my friend at the hospital. His appointment time is 8:50 am :/

I am afterwards planning to finish Christmas shopping.

1066vegan · 20/12/2019 06:42

Last day of term today. I'm usually in school for a couple of hours after the end of the school day, but feeling really tired and fed up at the moment. I'm really forward to getting out of there, coming home and switching off for a few days.

maddiemookins16mum · 20/12/2019 06:42

I’m off now until 02 Jan.
Tonight is our work Christmas Party, it’s a biggie. Posh hotel, dressy, free Bar, awards, dancing, 4 course meal. Am getting hair and make up done at 3pm. So looking forward to it.

ScribblyGum · 20/12/2019 06:46

Finishing my masters essay.

QueenofLouisiana · 20/12/2019 06:49

3.17pm.

Actually, lessons and carols will be nice this afternoon (walking 30 Year 6 children to church in the pouring rain will be less nice).

pumpkinpie01 · 20/12/2019 06:54

My DD has just come back from uni we are going to bake some biscuits after I finish work and it's so nice watching her play with her little brother ( she keeps filming him and putting it on Snapchat😀)

tinytemper66 · 20/12/2019 06:55

End of term! 😊 Mass then talent show. Early lunch, buses and then off to meet my son and do some shopping. No more school until Jan 6th!!

rhowton · 20/12/2019 07:06

I'm looking forward to my mum coming over as both my children (2&6m) have chicken pox and I'm going stir crazy! She's my biggest fan and I'm hers and my kids LOVE her so it's always my favourite part of the day!
I also have my Christmas party tonight and husband and I have a babysitter 🙌🏽! However, I'm already dreading the hangover tomorrow with two poorly children!

Lolly34h · 20/12/2019 07:09

Popping to my sons school to sign some forms. And then popping to lidl or aldi for the christmas veg. I have my dd great gran coming around later for her pre christmas visit. And then nothing at all apart from housework washing cooking all the normal mundane stuff.

bookworm14 · 20/12/2019 07:11

I’m off work now until 6th Jan. DD’s school broke up yesterday so today we’re going to see The Snail and the Whale at the theatre, followed by a nice lunch. Can’t wait to spend lots of quality time with DD over the holidays - she’s just finished her first term in reception and I think it’s exhausted her, especially as she has to do after-school club four days a week.

happypotamus · 20/12/2019 07:13

Bedtime. I am exhausted already. I was awake until nearly 1am and DC woke up at 5ish.
My last 4hrs of childfree time until 7th Jan.

Soontobe60 · 20/12/2019 07:14

Retiring! Today!

Tonii1985 · 20/12/2019 07:15

Its my first day off and my DH last day at work. I have a nice day planned with my 2 little ones and a friend but I'm feeling a bit ill/sick. So I'm mostly looking forward to DH getting home so I can put the youngest to bed and then get into bed myself!
