Why are you awake?

Sorry if there's already a thread like this. Signed off work with stress, battling a variety of demons. Despite only getting about four hours' sleep last night I can't sleep at the moment. Add to that visitors making snarky comments making me feel bad. Just feel like all my questions need answering right now and feel stuck in my self-destructive behavioursSad

Because I have to pee but am too cosy to get out of my warm bed.

StealthBoaster · 16/12/2019 02:10

Because someone is using the road outside as a race track and has woken up the dog..

DecemberSnow · 16/12/2019 02:11

Because of this place....
Mumsnet... Seriously... I need to get a life...
And i have heartburn

But nothing to do tomorrow really...
Big tesco delivery arriving , Post office and pharmacy runs ... And thats it... So no real reason to get much sleep

Horehound · 16/12/2019 02:12

Breastfeeding!

TheoriginalLEM · 16/12/2019 02:13

Because I fucked up at work and I'm scared of losing my job

JamieFrasersSassenach · 16/12/2019 02:14

Keep coughing - have this awful cold virus that is doing the rounds. Sorry to hear you're having such a hard time OP Thanks

Redshoeblueshoe · 16/12/2019 02:14

Because I sat up very late on Thursday, and drank far too much Wine so I'm slowly getting back to normal
Take care op

Novina · 16/12/2019 02:15

DD with low blood sugar ... alarms keep beeping to tell me she's dropping again. Intermittently getting her to eat dextrose.
Sorry you're stressed atm. I hope it improves for you.

whojamaflip · 16/12/2019 02:16

Because "d"h is snoring like a train 😡 so Ive decamped to the sofa 🙁

IdaBWells · 16/12/2019 02:16

Because I am on the West Coast of the USA and it’s only 6:15pm.

Fouroutoffour · 16/12/2019 02:16

Oh no LEM that's a horrible feeling! Is it fear of it being bad, or do you think there's an actual problem? May I ask what you do?

OP posts:
Igmum · 16/12/2019 02:17

Because DD woke me up and I can't get back to sleep. 💐 OP and EM

IdaBWells · 16/12/2019 02:17

Do you need to chat OP?

Fouroutoffour · 16/12/2019 02:18

@Novina are you in hospital? I'm assuming your DD is diabetic, that must be so worrying and stressful!

OP posts:
puds11 · 16/12/2019 02:18

@TheoriginalLEM are you ok?

I’m breastfeeding too

loubieloo4 · 16/12/2019 02:18

Worrying about DH's (39) scan results on Wednesday, stage 4 terminal bowel cancer. Every time he has a scan they find it has spread to somewhere else, then they change his life expectancy. Bloody shitty myself 😢

loubieloo4 · 16/12/2019 02:20

*shitting

Fouroutoffour · 16/12/2019 02:20

@IdaBWells just company on this thread is niceSmile I'm not in a particularly bad place, although I'm not quite sure how to get out of it yet either.

Thanks for all the flowers!

OP posts:
TheoriginalLEM · 16/12/2019 02:20

Not really puds but mnet is providing a distraction

PhoneLock · 16/12/2019 02:21

Because where I am it's mid morning.

Fouroutoffour · 16/12/2019 02:21

@loubieloo4 I read your story on the BB thread. Absolutely heartbreaking. Are you getting the support you, individually, need?

OP posts:
DookofBust · 16/12/2019 02:22

Sore throat, headache/virus here plus DD13 who is recovering from this is in my bed, coughing and stealing the duvet.

TheoriginalLEM · 16/12/2019 02:22

Oh Louie that is so sad. Flowers and OP Flowers perspective xx

Notacluetwittwoo · 16/12/2019 02:23

So sorry to hear that @loubieloo4 Flowers sending you all the hugs and thoughts.
I’m awake as have been working late evenings this weekend and tonight I finished early and now I can’t sleep.
Also sat up worrying about whether we’ll ever have a baby as struggling with infertility. Scouring Mumsnet for other people’s “miracles” doesn’t help me sleep but it’s addictive!! Blush

Novina · 16/12/2019 02:23

fouroutoffour thanks for asking. Yes, Ddis type 1 for over a decade now. Not in hospital, just one of those nights. Smile
