So...who did you vote for?

I know there are plenty of threads on voting intentions but it makes me wonder how many of those people actually end up voting. So to those who have and don’t mind sharing ..who did you vote for and why?

I haven’t actually voted yet but I will be doing so this evening after work.

Labour! Strongly support all their welfare policies and want a second referendum.

newdawntoday · 12/12/2019 13:18

Green. Just couldn't decide between the others and felt I couldn't go wrong with a vote for the planet.
Besides, if all the people who don't vote green because they don't stand a chance actually voted green, wouldn't they then stand a chance? Politics confuses me 😆.

samandcj · 12/12/2019 13:19

Lib Dems lost my vote.
For the first time ever (in 40 years of voting) I spoilt my vote.
"Protect safe spaces for women"

DarlingNikita · 12/12/2019 13:20

More so if the voting system were overhauled.

Labour.

Partly tactical as it's a very safe Tory seat & Labour are always the closest second (although a long way behind)

Local Labour candidate seems very good, current Tory MP is very lazy & does not represent the area well at all.

Would have voted Labour in any seat as they have the policies I like the most, NHS & Education cuts are my main interests (I am a remainer but don't think just cancelling Brexit would end well so would like a second vote on it)

Didn't see a huge turnout but I was the first person there this morning so that has probably changed. Apparently historically a big turnout is not usually positive for Conservatives, we'll see tonight/tomorrow!

Will be voting Labour on my way home from work 👌🌷

goodluckdontdie · 12/12/2019 13:24

Do any of the major parties support voting reform?

winniesanderson · 12/12/2019 13:28

Labour. This government has had the most horrendous impact on some of the most vulnerable members of our society. People with illness, disabilities, mental illness, in poverty, homeless, the elderly, children. It could be any of us or our loved ones at any time. It is some of my loved ones.

I couldn't give a fig about Brexit right now.

Rockbird · 12/12/2019 13:28

Tactical vote for labour in a safe Tory seat. Won't make any difference but worth a shot to get our MP out, never mind Johnson.

Postmissposte · 12/12/2019 13:29

I'm going out later to vote SNP. I'm not a nationalist but have come round to the idea of independence as a chance for a healthy democracy and EU membership. Plus it's a close thing between the SNP and the Tories where I am, and we've had 4 years of a truly dreadful Tory MP.

nancy75 · 12/12/2019 13:30

goodluckdontdie there was a referendum pushed through by the Lib Dems when in coalition I believe (may 2011) it was for alternative voting and reform of the house of Lords - info here

I'm not sure about now, I think it's mainly the smaller parties that want it (for obvious reasons)

Nonnymum · 12/12/2019 13:30

Labour because they are the best chance we have

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 12/12/2019 13:33

I'd love to vote labour, but where I am it's like pissing in the wind. Have to vote Lib Dem to keep the Tories out.

Rhodes2015again · 12/12/2019 13:37

Conservative

minipie · 12/12/2019 13:37

Labour. I dislike JC but not nearly as much as I detest BJ and Brexit. I’m more inclined towards Green or Lib Dem but (a) self ID TWAW nonsense and (b) in my constituency it’s between Con and Lab and the main thing right now is the Tories not getting a majority.

minipie · 12/12/2019 13:38

goodluckdontdie Lib Dem and Green both do.

ilovetinsel · 12/12/2019 13:39

kimlo · 12/12/2019 13:40

labour.

neversleepagain · 12/12/2019 13:42

Both me and dh voted Labour.

Littlecloud19 · 12/12/2019 13:44

None (on my returned ballot paper).
It could have been Plaid Cymru if the candidate had explained the gender ID change commitment in the manifesto, and what he would do to protect women's spaces.

Nixen · 12/12/2019 13:51

I spoiled my ballot.
I’m actually a member of the Conservative party but I feel sick about it all at the moment. Having a real political identity crisis.

golddustwomen · 12/12/2019 13:56

Voted labour.

noodlenosefraggle · 12/12/2019 13:56

Labour in the end was thinking of reconsidering because of the gender recognition stuff but Brexit more urgent (just) and hoping now light has been shone on the issue more mp's will be likely to vote down gra than brexit.

mindproject · 12/12/2019 13:56

I'm going out soon to vote Lib Dem.

noodlenosefraggle · 12/12/2019 14:00

Do any of the major parties support voting reform
Neither Labour or the Tories supported voting reform in the past but now there are mutterings among Labour members I know because of hung Parliaments etc. Lib Dems only party who have supported it consistently.
