What does taking ecstasy feel like?

After reading a thread on here I realised I'm possibly in the minority. I never took it, would have been utterly petrified. Loads of my mates did it in their clubbing years... I was never pressured and I don't regret not doing it.

But I do wonder so for those of you who did, what did it feel like?

CantstandmLMs · 01/12/2019 22:28

I only did it for the first time in the summer in Ibiza and it was honestly the best night of my life Blush
felt like pure Euphoria to me...in waves. Happiest ever.

isabellerossignol · 01/12/2019 22:29

Kind of shivery, in a nice way.

But not worth doing again.

Craftylittlething · 01/12/2019 22:30

There’s a clue in the name Smile however the come down is horrific

Budek · 01/12/2019 22:30

When I took it ( early 80's raving days) it felt like a rush through my body, heightened by touch, the music. Tingling in my skin, adrenaline used to pulse through my body when a particularly good track was on....
Omg this was a loooong time ago 😕

beelzeboob · 01/12/2019 22:32

An amazing physical sensation of euphoria in your core / centre of your body. A feeling of oneness with people you’re with. Music sounds amazing. Your skin feels sensitive in a nice way.
Come downs can be harsh though.

arethereanyusernamesleftatall · 01/12/2019 22:36

Like you feel love everyone and feel empathy with them, and that you are at one with the music in a way you didn't know was possible.

The arrival of ecstasy in the UK is credited by many for having a hugely significant role to play the end of football violence on the terraces in the 80s. It's hard to kick the shit out of someone when you were hugging them in a club the night before!

Did you know it was synthesised by a chemist who was hopeful it might be used as an aid in couples therapy?

HarrietTheFly · 01/12/2019 22:38

Like you love and want to hug everyone. I never found the come downs that bad either. I think I would if I took one today though!

Bezalelle · 01/12/2019 22:42

It's absolutely amazing. Euphoric. You feel all warm and loving, and you can talk to anybody.

kazza446 · 01/12/2019 22:42

Amazing 😉
Haven’t done it in years and would be scared to do so now for many reasons. The feeling is indescribable, your senses amplify by 200% You love everyone and lose your inhibitions. However come downs can be dreadful. I used to always have a weepy Wednesday when everything made me cry!

Turt · 01/12/2019 22:42

Phenomenal at the time, hideous the next day.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 01/12/2019 22:43

It's like the best night of your life, without having to do any of the work to set that up.

So think of your wedding reception, plus your 18th and your 21st and your 40th. But you had to do nothing. No organising, no sorting things out, you didn't even need to sort out an invites list because the room was already full of 1000 beautiful strangers you'd never met before. So they weren't trying to say 'hi' to you and harsh your buzz, they were just dancing to the best soundtrack ever. And I mean ever.

God I loved E.

dontalltalkatonce · 01/12/2019 22:44

Pretty damn good! I haven't done it in over 20 years but yeah, good times! I've taken it in combination with LSD and it was incredible.

BuffaloCauliflower · 01/12/2019 22:44

Kissing on pills is the best feeling ever

EachandEveryone · 01/12/2019 22:46

What would be the soundtrack then?

Allycumpooster · 01/12/2019 22:46

I had a negative response. Made me violently sick. Never tried it again.

OldElPasoHadAChicken · 01/12/2019 22:47

It's everything PPs have described it to be.

I did a lot way back in the day. I still know people who take things now but I'm not round them when they do, rarely see them full stop.

I don't know if I'd recommend people try it because you don't know what it's been cut with, and some people have had adverse reactions. The comedowns are awful and last between a day and three days. And it's easy to be taken advantage of when you're on e. You love everyone, hug everyone. Anyone could do anything.

Northernsoullover · 01/12/2019 22:48

Pretty damn fabulous. I wouldn't do it now though as like kazza I'd be too scared. Come downs are absolutely hideous though and going back to your mundane life on a Monday was soul destroying.

I wasn't very sensible in my early 20's.

Pinkyrosie · 01/12/2019 22:54

It's been thirty years since I used to do it Confused
I would have the best times, truly amazing feeling of euphoria. Same as others have said though, the come down could be awful. I loved my clubbing days so much I would love to go back and re live it again for a night.

MegaClutterSlut · 01/12/2019 22:55

Been a few years since I had any but the feeling was great. The come downs were horrendous though. Not sure its quite worth it but always had a great time on them

VioletVerity · 01/12/2019 23:13

I also had a negative experience, well I think I tried it around 3 times in total pills or MDMA when I was 19. All my friends felt exactly as everyone else describing!

I went paranoid and felt ugly! I didn't want to see anyone and spent my time in another room at house parties until it wore off. I think the rush was too much for me to handle maybe.

Still I'm glad I never had a swinging jaw Shock my friends eyeballs used to shake and literally make me feel sick talking to her! She loved pills though.

LilQueenie · 01/12/2019 23:15

Don't know. I just remember Leah Betts whenever it is mentioned. so not worth it.

Namestranger · 01/12/2019 23:19

It's fantastic

TheChosenTwo · 01/12/2019 23:26

Wonderful! Until the next day.
I just used to feel so energised and free.
I’ve decided that when I get to 80 I’m going to take back up smoking and taking drugs Grin

ThomasShelbysBunnet · 01/12/2019 23:27

Oh my God it was amazing. I was very straight laced and virginal in my teens and broke up with a boyfriend because he tried it 🙈

When I hit 25 I tried it all. Ecstasy was fucking amazing.

Redcliff · 01/12/2019 23:48

I had some great nights - the first time I felt like the music was coming out of me and I was helping everyone dance. I don't think me and my DH would have got together without it. Also didn't find the comedowns that bad.

I did also have one horrible night with a bad batch of pills - I guess you never really know what is in them.
