If so, which one? I was very disorganised this year, as I normally have a pork scratching one, but couldn't find one this year. I've gone for a lindt one instead...

I have one from a small business, 24 individually wrapped gifts. It’s amazing.

Shesalittlemadam · 01/12/2019 08:34

Aragog · 01/12/2019 08:37

I have the smallest body shop one and Dd 12 has the medium value one so we can swap things if we wish. Dd had a BS one for the first time last year and we were far more impressed with the value for money over my Molton Brown one.

SimonJT · 01/12/2019 08:38

I have 24 days of rum, my son has a lego one and a moofree chocolate one.

TreesSandSea · 01/12/2019 08:42

I have a Mindfulness one. Today I have to spend five minutes looking out of a window at what’s outside 😁

Shesalittlemadam · 01/12/2019 08:42

Really wish I hadn't read this thread :( I realllllly wanted the Body Shop one :(

ExMIL picked DD2 up for gymnastics yesterday, and gave DD3 (not her grandchild) a dairy free advent calendar, that made me feel all emotional, she does it every year but it still makes my throat catch that she includes my DD with her GC.

DP (been together just over a year) made DD3 an advent calendar by sticking loads of her favourite TV show stickers on a plain wooden one, when he realised we couldn’t get her a character one as there aren’t any that are dairy free (he’s not DD3s Dad; he was abusive and isn’t around, thank fuck) - I had no idea he’d done that and it made me cry Blush

Elder DDs both have a Kinder bueno one here and Reeses at their Dads.

Plump82 · 01/12/2019 09:41

I've got a Lindt one and also a Bare Minerals one.

ReginaGeorgeous · 01/12/2019 16:43

I've got a hotel chocolat one this year. DD has got a chocolate one with Toy Story on the front and the Lakeland Bethlehem Stable.

happypotamus · 01/12/2019 16:51

I get myself a picture one, usually Moomins, but this year I got an Owl Babies one with pictures from the book (not very festive). My mum gets DC a Lego one to share because she can't afford to get one for each grandchild, so I get DC a picture one (this year it is a 3D tree and today there was a picture of a gingerbread house) and they take it in turns to open that or the Lego one. They might be the only DC not to get a chocolate one. I don't think they need a chocolate everyday for a month, and I can't afford to spend £20+ on a Lego/ Playmobil one.

EskewedBeef · 01/12/2019 16:54

My husband gave me a Godiva chocolate one, and my mum gave me an Airwick candle one. I don't normally have one, so I'm pleased.

mrsbyers · 01/12/2019 16:56

No and I asked to not get one , last few years I’ve had Clinique / L’occitane and I’ve still not used all the miniatures , got husband beer one - husband has had some trouble with pay this year so didn’t want him to feel obliged. In town earlier I did ask him if he wanted a chocolate one but we just got a run of celebrations with our groceries instead

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 01/12/2019 17:00

Gin and pork scratching advents for me.
Dses have Haribo and DH has a Green and Blacks calendar.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 01/12/2019 17:01

Bought myself a quaint old fashioned one, just with little pictures. A very jolly Raymond Briggs Father Christmas.
Never had one as a child so compensating now.

dementedma · 01/12/2019 17:03

Thank goodness for previous poster. Was coming on to say that we only have one with pictures in and a traditional scene on the outside. I thought I was the only person left who does this...

Bonkerz · 01/12/2019 17:05

I didn't and haven't had one for years.

This year my 8 year old has got me a heroes one using his own pocket money!
Total surprise (he got his sister to order it online for him).

Bickles · 01/12/2019 17:07

DH got me the hotel chocolat plain one. He has Cadburys, DS has Lego Harry Potter and a chocolate Toy Story one because he steals our chocolate if he just has a toy one.

Sleepysquirrelin · 01/12/2019 17:19

I don't have one for myself. I've a tradional wooden one for the DC with little doors to open. I will do a mix of small toys, chocolate treat, christmas movie night, got to think up a few more ideas...

This thread has inspired me to do my own unoffical calendar. I've treated myself to a kindle 99p book today. Something to look forward to every day sounds lovely. Feeling a bit like I have the winter blues today. Fancy tea bags, bath treats, cheese all sound good ideas!

Backofthebunty · 01/12/2019 17:31

I bought my grand daughter the oxfam one - different finger puppet every day of children from round the world.it was a fiver - I thought it was really good value.

MulticolourMophead · 01/12/2019 17:59

I bought a large fabric star advent calendar and fill the pockets with treats for the DC each year.

PsychosonicCindy · 01/12/2019 18:05

My kids have all got chocolate ones dairy milk or frozen but I bought myself a very pretty winter scene glittery one which just has a lovely pretty Christmas picture behind the door. Lovely. Reminds me of being a child and the excitment of what's behind the door and if course the double door nativity scene for Christmas eve!

Apocalyptichorsewoman · 01/12/2019 18:05

I bought the horse a crunchit treat advent calendar. He was very pleased! 🐴

purplecorkheart · 01/12/2019 18:06

I have a wine one.

Mumthedogsbeensick · 01/12/2019 18:17

I don't have an advent calendar. I'm just opening cupboard doors and eating whatever's in there Smile
