Yes! But I've been surprised but how much it has aged - smoking in pubs etc. Smithy and his sixth form girlfriend would never be considered funny now, I dont think. Nessa still brilliant of course.

I'm really worried about it now, after seeing the clip released and how shit it was........

I don't think they can recreate the magic, but I'm happy to be proved wrong. DDs are going to watch it and report back

@Lostmyname the smoking was the main thing that struck me about it too.

I think the teenage girlfriend treads a fine line - the fact that we never see or meet her helps.

I think the first series is my favourite and although lots of it hasn’t aged brilliantly, the essence of it - that bond of love and friendship and family - is still just as touching

I’m digging the box set out of the loft tomorrow! I really, really hope it’s good. So many re-boots have been awful (Gilmore Girls and This life spring to mind). All it took at work one day was someone mentioning line dancing..which led to a comment about Gavin and Stacey and then a few of us quoting it!

It really does look very early 2000s now - everyone smoking everywhere, the mobile phones, the references to deal or no deal, the credit crunch and Dixon’s. Makes you realise how time flurries away without you realising it.

Love it though, it’s my go to comfort watch.

I’m rewatching too. It’s my happy place and I’m excited and scared in equal measure for Xmas. Hated that clip- almost looked like there was a slapstick feel to it. Which is not the comedy of G&S, but we shall see. Also I’ve never recovered from the return of Only Fools and Horses
