Yes, we did our revision homework and re-watched in preparation. The final scene of the four of them looking out over the beach leads so perfectly to the special as it left a lot of unanswered questions.

I'd forgotten about the teenage gf, I remember thinking at the time that imo it was intended to depict a character whi couldn't engage in real adult relationships, but it never occurred to me that it might have been under age.

Anyway this thread has remined me that there's a special so I'm looking forward to it! Have details been given about the channel, day and time?

There's a longer trailer been released now which looks a lot better, more like the original. But why was I surprised to see the characters especially Pam looking so much older?! Its been 10 years

I always had the impression that Smithie’s girlfriend had more going for her than he did. She was always busy.

At sixth form, 17+, I had a boyfriend who was five years older than me. We went out for nearly three years. It’s never occurred to me that there was anything dodgy about it until now.

I love Gavin and Stacey but for me Stacey was my least liked character, Doris however was brilliant and yes the “I’m absolutely twatted” line wonderful.

Loved Pam too and the dynamic of dawn & Pete. Nessa is equally brilliant.

Can’t wait for the special, I just hope it won’t be a let down and they have done it justice

I don't know why but I was thinking about my own schooldays this morning. In my final year I went out with a 24 year old. He even came to prom with me. I remember that time very fondly.

It was 25 years ago mind you. I have only mention it was n relation to Smithy's schoolgirl girlfriend.

I wasn’t sure what to think about the first trailer with Bryn doing dinner, but the ‘step in’ trailer is a bit more exciting. Not keen on the changes to Pam & Mick’s hallway though
