i love Robbie, seen him live loads, got most of his albums but christ on a fucking bike this song is dreadful. i bet even Gary Barlow winced, and he’s the actual king of cheesy rhyming songs.

I wondered if there would be a thread about this. He was talking about it on radio2 this morning, he clearly hopes this is going to be played every Christmas and will be his pension. I think it’s dreadful but I can imagine primary school children belting it out. It’s very, very poor songwriting.

Yep, just said to dp this evening how insipid and boring it is. Just saying the word Christmas in a song doesn’t make it a Christmas song.

I think that is why he said he did the Millennium song...he said he knew it would be played in the background a LOT during the turn of the century/millennium. He seems to be fixated on being remembered.

My DH and I were discussing recently how well you'd do if you wrote a christmas song, and even if it was not great, it would be played every year....but this takes cheese to a whole new level.
