Have you changed your mind about who to vote for in the GE?

Was wondering whether the leaders debates, political news or social media have made anyone change their mind about who to vote for? Also, any predictions about the outcome at this point?

No was always going to vote Labour. Seeing the dirty tricks the Tories are using to try to smear the labour campaign has made me even more sure of my choice. The reason the Tories are kicking off is because they know that the Labour policies are likely to gain votes.

ginghambox · 21/11/2019 18:15

No still voting Conservative.

Lionso · 21/11/2019 18:15

Want to vote Lib Dem, but voting Labour as in what is now a Labour/Brexit marginal.

Voting Labour, since reading their manifesto earlier. Prior to that I didn’t know.

One of my children is very unwell and the staff shortages on her ward, and the consequences of that on poorly children, are heartbreaking. So I had to scrap my plan of spoiling my ballot.

pisspants · 21/11/2019 18:18

I live in a fairly safe Tory seat and I'm a labour supporter. I originally thought I'd vote lib dem as I assumed they were the 2nd party here. And also as they are remain. However, it turns out labour are 2nd here and I really like their policy on Brexit. I also dont think just cancelling Brexit is a good idea.

WalkAwaySugarbear · 21/11/2019 18:18

I was undecided but I found out that our local councillor is running, he's been very active in sorting out issues locally and I like him. He happens to be Tory but has little chance in our safe Labour seat.

DeRigueurMortis · 21/11/2019 18:19

I was undecided (a remainer) between Labour and Lib Dem.

I'll be honest that neither party appeals to me based on some of their current policies, but I find them slightly more acceptable than the hard right lurching Tories.

In the end I'll most likely vote Labour as they have the best chance of toppling the incumbent Tory MP.

I'm under no illusions that Labour will win this GE, I'm just hoping that we can avoid a Tory landslide.

MaidenMotherCrone · 21/11/2019 18:22

Labour before and will still vote labour. For everyone's sake.

thetoddleratemyhomework · 21/11/2019 18:22

Was thinking LD but can't due to GRC fiasco and idea of revoking brexit without referendum. Labour can't win in my constituency but I also don't trust them on gender and the economy - I think they are still trying to be vague and be all things to all people. I think a hung parliament is quite dangerous and just adds to the political chaos and uncertainty and I prefer the tories on GRC issues I think so I am going to hold my nose and vote Tory for first time I think,

ReginaGeorgeous · 21/11/2019 18:26

No. Will still be voting Conservative.

InglouriousBasterd · 21/11/2019 18:28

Lib Dem tactical vote but will do a swap with a labour vote.

user1471453601 · 21/11/2019 18:40

Labour as always (well, apart from the last EU election when I voted Green to keep a credit shit out).

DD (only voted once in her nearly 50 years, except for the referendum) will also be voting Labour. The NHS is way too important to all of us to risk it being sold off.

MoiraRose · 21/11/2019 18:42

100% Labour

Bezalelle · 21/11/2019 18:47

No. Labour all the way.

I'd rather pull my own skin off and eat it than vote Conservative.

safariboot · 21/11/2019 18:50

I mean to read the manifestos anyway. I think a TV debate won't tell us much except who is better at TV debates.

I'm still undecided. I'm very much "Never Tory" but I've been unimpressed with Labour's game playing in Parliament. But I may vote tactically anyway.

Bickles · 21/11/2019 18:54

Normally vote Tory- not this time.
Was considering voting Labour but just read the manifesto -no.
LibDem for me- want to remain.

Trewser · 21/11/2019 18:54

Probably Conservative.

Ohyesiam · 21/11/2019 18:55

It’s more of a process of elimination. So a passive decision.

CendrillonSings · 21/11/2019 18:55

Conservative. Labour’s spending plans are simply insane:

The Institute for Fiscal Studies has said Labour’s plans would push the UK’s tax burden well above levels that have been sustained at any time since the second world war, and expressed scepticism about whether the burden would fall exclusively on the better off and companies.

rosie1959 · 21/11/2019 18:57

No change still voting Conservative

Trewser · 21/11/2019 19:02

I know its a cliche but I really can't understand how Labour will pay for all its plans. Taxing "big business" just won't raise enough. And I expect pensions will end up getting hit and prices of everything will go up and I'll have to pay an extra 20 on fees and lose out on inheritance. And I'm bloody sick of being painted as the bad guy by Labour, and on Mumsnet (waits for the inevitable kicking).

FaFoutis · 21/11/2019 19:03

what fees? for the golf club?

RolytheRhino · 21/11/2019 19:04

Yes. I went on this website:

www.whoshouldyouvotefor.com/

No real idea about Brexit anymore, but apparently the Brexit party wants to change from first past the post to proportional representation, which has given me pause for thought. Anyone know if any of the others want that too?

AliceLittle · 21/11/2019 19:04

I still haven't decided. It won't make a blind bit of difference as my area is a safe labour. It's for my own head really.

Trewser · 21/11/2019 19:05

scepticism about whether the burden would fall exclusively on the better off and companies

Of course it won't! That's why i am so sick of it. If they were honest and said we will all need to pay more tax to pay for this, ALL of us, then I'd vote for them. But this dangerously disingenuous idea that some vague offshore "big business" will pay for it all is frankly insulting to people's intelligence.
