David Baddiels comment about Corbyn

I’ve looked for a thread about this but can’t see one.
David Baddiel picked up that on the leaders debate Corbyn pronounced Epstein in a way that made it sound more Jewish ie Epshteen as opposed to Epsteen. He said every Jew will have noticed this and that it’s another example of Corbyns antisemitism.

I’m Jewish. I’m no fan of Corbyn but really hadn’t noticed this and even now David Baddiel has pointed it out, am struggling to see this as an example of antisemitism. Am I missing something here? Is this antisemitic?

The transition from grief to celebration just encapsulates the country for me - I’ve never felt so connected to Israel as I have spending those days there.

Absolutely this is not about a name. It’s not about the pronunciation.

It is about the intention behind it.
We have a few choices since we are not in his head or heart.

1. He has missed all the news coverage and doesn’t know how to say it.
2. He wanted to say it in a particular way because he is one of those annoying people who wants to say things with an accent.
3. He wants to imply that Epstein is Jewish ergo Jewish people are not to be trusted.

To conclude he is either ill-informed, arrogant or dangerously anti-Semitic.

And to give a final response:

(a) talk complete bollocks about how famous people's names are pronounced, EVERYONE in my milieu of London-South East pronounces Epstein the German way. Maybe YOU talk bollocks?

(b) actively support a party that is institutionally antisemitic - the historical jury, my friend is open on that one. I think the Tories historically are way more antisemitic than Labour.

& (c) think that lying, mocking & taunting Jewish people for pointing out antisemitism is hilarious. What? Where do i mock and taunt? Am I not entitled to spend my own money the way I wish? I thought as a Tory you were in favour of private property, eh?
