And what is for dinner?

DH is home from work and we've just finished eating. We had chicken, broccoli and cheddar frittata. We're on mainland Europe so an hour ahead.

We've got to unpack a couple of boxes left over from our move a few weeks ago then we're going to watch and episode of Living With Yourself which we're loving.

I'll have 2 squares of 90% Lindt and some macadamia nuts with a cuppa before an early night so I feel awake enough to go to the gym in the morning.

DD and I had tuna pasta for dinner and then some fruit salad for dessert. She's now asleep and has been since 6.30, DP is upstairs in his man cave doing God knows what (he should be making some notes on wedding stuff we need to get back to the registrar, but given I haven't done mine either it would be hypocritical to nag) and I'm downstairs on the sofa working on my laptop (and cheekily looking on MN when I shouldn't be). Oh and DDog is asleep beside me.

Popskipiekin · 19/11/2019 20:50

I am sat in DS2’s cot as he is poorly and won’t sleep without me, and won’t sleep in our bed. So this seems to be the only solution right now. I have a big mug of tea (I promise it is nowhere near the child) and a phone on 40% and a desire to go to bed myself in an hour or so, so this can only go on so long!

ironickname · 19/11/2019 20:57

Had pasta for dinner as couldn't be arsed to cook from the recipe box.
I've come up to bed to read, feeling very out of sorts and grumpy. Was tearful earlier in the day. I don't know why everything is getting to me today, nothing new has happened.
I hope that I get a good nights sleep and wake up feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed:

WinifredTorrance · 19/11/2019 20:58

Sitting watching the debate (well, it’s on in the background. DH is paying closer attention to it than me!) DD (2) and DS (5) are in bed. Drinking squash and eating crisps - we all had had steak pie and veg for tea. Will probably watch a bit of The Devil Next Door then head to bed - was on dialysis this morning so feeling a bit wiped out.

Scoleah · 19/11/2019 21:00

I've just got out of the Bath, husband is watching the Wales V Hungary match, my daughter is trying to teach the dog to give her her paw, and my Son is sleeping!

Cantsleeppast3am · 19/11/2019 21:03

Can't believe how many people having sausage and mash!!
I like mine with roasted parsnips and carrots. Delicious!

DogAndCatPerson · 19/11/2019 21:03

I’m about to take the dog out for his last walk and then I’ll have a bath and go to bed when I get in. Teenager is in her room. Husband is away with work.

Sorry you’ve had a tricky day, @ and others who’ve had rubbish ones. I hope tomorrow is better for you all Flowers

Louise91417 · 19/11/2019 21:04

Im also single mum..can get lonely when kids are in bed so iv decided to get a puppy...it was between puppy or a man..opted for puppyWink

Ithinkwerealonenowtiffany · 19/11/2019 21:05

Im watching football WALHUN. Dh has taken the kids for a jolly to Cardiff. So exciting!

DogAndCatPerson · 19/11/2019 21:05

That should’ve said @ironickname. I don’t know why it didn’t Hmm.

We had pork medallions, mash & creamed spinach for dinner.

ironickname · 19/11/2019 21:12

@DogAndCatPerson

That's kind of you, I'm sure I'll be better tomorrow - I can't have another day like this - I'm annoying to myself!

Mummyilovejokes1 · 19/11/2019 21:13

Got home from work, dc's on ipads, made dinner for me and dp which was chicken thigh in nandos sauce, broccoli and mexican rice, simple but nice although i am feeling a little hungry now! Dp went back out for a meeting and i put dc's to bed, had a shower and have been mumsnetting and watching junior bake off. Now deciding whether to go to bed or laze on sofa a bit longer.

poorlymatchedsocks · 19/11/2019 21:14

Kids are in bed. DH has just got home from work Is on the Xbox. I'm catching up on rupauls drag race and finishing making dinner of sausage casserole, onion rings and broccoli.

mynameisigglepiggle · 19/11/2019 21:17

We had jacket potatoes for tea here with either beans, cheese or tuna.
I'm currently sitting on my makeshift "bed" on DS floor. He should be asleep but he had a danger nap at teatime so is scratting about not going to sleep. I've managed to escape lying in the cotbed with him.
DD1 and DD2 were both in bed but I've heard one of them get up. I'm guessing DD1 who will be protesting to DH that she is "not tired" despite the fact I've had to drag her out of bed yesterday and today.
I'm fed up now as I want to watch I'm a celeb and I'm tired!!!
I'm guessing the washing up will still be there when I go downstairs as well!!

RaeCJ82 · 19/11/2019 21:31

Fish curry for tea.

DD is in bed asleep. DP is upstairs having a shower and I'm sat scrolling through MN with 'I'm a Celeb...' on pause, waiting for DP to come back downstairs.

darkriver19886 · 19/11/2019 21:37

I had tuna pasta bake, with garlic bread. Then ate a donut.
Was watching Big Bang Theory, got a little bored so decided to play assassin's creed. That made me want to rage quit so I switched on Marcella.

It's amazing.

Bunnylady53 · 19/11/2019 21:37

My tablecloth was from Asda - £6 I think

HerRoyalNotness · 19/11/2019 21:43

DD is on the couch under a blanket eating an ice cream watching sherif Callie.

I’m on the other end of the couch taking a study break, absolutely packing it, over how I am going to be able to do the module I’ve just started today, it’s a research module and I’m feeling ill at the work I have to do while juggling the toddler and doing everything else.

Also waiting for older D.C. to get in from school (it’s 3.42) and the mechanic to call back so I can pick up my car and take the Dc to their after school activity. Sigh

threesenoughthanks · 19/11/2019 21:45

The "what's happening in your house" and "what did you have for tea" threads are my favourites and now we have two for the price of one.
We had fish, chips and mushy peas for tea. Teenage kids are in their rooms no doubt on their phones. Me and DH are watching the Greg Davies Kes documentary.

dementedma · 19/11/2019 21:49

We had a spiced spinach dish with cauliflower rice for dinner as DH is Low Carbing in an attempt to beat his Diabetes.
DS has gone to watch Tim Minchin live in concert and DD1 is going to pick him up later
DD2 has arrived back from a short break in Krakow with her “bestie” and DH collected her from the airport.
The joys of older children.

ivegotthisyeah · 19/11/2019 22:10

Obviously now I'm tucked up in bed on my phone reading mn but our night tonight ( also a single mum) 🙌🏻 kids collected from gymnastics at staggered times so that me dragging out a three year old who just wants to play with his trains twice to collect his sisters. Made salmon en croute for tea with veg and potatoes ( day off today) lit the fire, played with son and his train track 🙄 watched half a Xmas film with dd2 bathed dd2 and ds1 and dd3 had a shower, plaited dd2 hair snuggled and took her up to bed. Dd3 went shortly after and I just watched gold digger which is fab!! Now in bed dreading tomorrow's work day morning rush of schools drops and commute

tobee · 19/11/2019 22:12

Open fire roaring, Dh working in front of me, at coffee table; me putting off doing some jobs, cosy and relaxing on sofa on Mumsnet on phone with Frankenstein Created Woman on the telly with the sound down ConfusedConfused Adult dd out, adult ds away at university.

tobee · 19/11/2019 22:13

Oh dinner was bean and rice tortilla wraps with cheese & salsa & guac

Fancy some chocky now Shock

Octopuscrazy · 19/11/2019 22:19

Dinner tonight was lamb shanks with brown rice and salad.
Played a bit with the kids in the bedroom with the magnets and disco lights.
Dh putting our dd down for bed now (napped late in the day so just now going to bed). I've just put down the baby who is 11 months and still not sleeping through the night 😴.
I'm going to go down and put a load of laundry in the washing machine and the leftovers on the fridge then hopefully get some sleep before baby is up again!

quickkimchi · 19/11/2019 22:30

Sitting in my mum's living room while she's at the kitchen table. Just finished two amazing fish tacos from a local place I'd never been to before the other day. Inadvertently over-ordered so extras put in fridge for later and no worse for it. Even my mum enjoyed hers and she's not a great Mexican food fan. Imo they could have used a little shredded cabbage but the pico de gallo made up for it.
Will have a cuppa, skype dh and then going makeup shopping with mum at Ulta. (We're five hours behind the UK.)
