And what is for dinner?

DH is home from work and we've just finished eating. We had chicken, broccoli and cheddar frittata. We're on mainland Europe so an hour ahead.

We've got to unpack a couple of boxes left over from our move a few weeks ago then we're going to watch and episode of Living With Yourself which we're loving.

I'll have 2 squares of 90% Lindt and some macadamia nuts with a cuppa before an early night so I feel awake enough to go to the gym in the morning.

We have just finished dinner (late tonight as the eldest had friends over) which was spaghetti bolognese and now we are watching get Santa.

Oooh what a lovely thread! I feel like I'm looking into people's windows as I walk by... except it's not creepy because they've invited me to peek!

DSS is cleaning out the tortoise table before he heads back to his mum's for the night.

DP is packing his kit for work.

DDog and I are sitting on the floor by DSS and playing DJ on the sound system (current soundtrack is Sam Cooke) while keeping an eye on the tortoise so she doesn't wander off....

In about 45 minutes the guys will head out - DP will drop DSS back to his mum's and then go on to his gig. I will reheat yesterday's risotto and watch a bit of Abstract on Netflix, write in my journal and then enjoy going to bed by myself (DP starfishes so a few hours with the whole bed to myself is heaven!).

I'm eating fruit cake and watching Bobs Burgers with the dog. The baby is asleep.

Not my house (squatting with DSis ahead of house purchase). DSis just got in knackered from work trip. DBIL watching football and eating tea. DD, DNeph and his mate had slow cooker chicken earlier, now playing on Xbox. I'm having my chicken and DDog is staring at me.

DH is working away all week. DCs and I have plates board games, watched TV and had fish finger sandwiches and fruit for tea. DS has just had his story and gone to bed. DD is doing her keyboard practice (with headphones).

DDs fast asleep. Having a cuddle with ddog on the sofa. Waiting for DH to get home.

We had cheesy pasta for dinner. We're all (me, DH and 2 DDs) sitting on the sofa watching The Simpsons. One dog is snoring at my feet and I'm not sure where the other is, possibly in one of the dog beds either in the hallway or the kitchen.

Dh and ds1 are away, dd is in her room and ds2 is in the bath. I’m on the sofa trying to get the energy to clear away the dinner stuff.

Later I’ll make mine and ds2 packed lunch and maybe do some yoga or read for a bit.

Pets are sleeping in front of the fire.

We had lamb chops (Marco Pierre white style). Dd is watching just add magic and snuggled with the dog.

I'm at work and DS will be at Explorers. If I had to hazard a guess I would say that in our house DH will be watching tv, DDogs 1 & 3 will be lying by the fire and DDog2 will be tip tip tipping all round the ducking wooden floors mooching.
DCat will be on the bed which my Alexa app tells me DH has turned on to keep him warm

Right now I'm watching some tele, partner is working on the computer, DSS is in a really really bad mood because his dog was put down (understand upsetting but mood is now angry and violent), load of washing on because DSS has finally decided to put his shorts in the wash that he needs in 11 hours time .. all joyous.

Have just put ds2 to bed..had just sat my backside down for first time today, house all tidied and said ds2 decided he wanted to sit in a drawer so emptied the contents over the floor no swear words used (very proud of myself) was put to bed in record speed..now i can finally chill

We’ve just got home from nursery/work. But later than usual because we stopped off for dinner on the way home so I didn’t have to cook.

Sitting down for 5 mins before putting dd to bed and watching the debate.

We had home made chicken Balti for tea.
Adult dd has gone to cinema with her boyfriend, ds is upstairs revising for GCSE mocks and dp had taken dss back.
Spotty arse dogs are asleep.
I'm gonna have a soak in the bath and watch I'm a celeb with some wine and a bag of minstrels.

We’ve just had spag Bol and DH and DD are dancing to Sgt Peppers LP and I’m laying on the sofa building up to bath/bed/story time but feeling very content

My kids are just asleep so I'm playing on my phone then going to get a cup of tea and some Maltesers and watch Netflix in bed after tidying

We had beef burgers and salad in buns and beer battered onion rings for dinner.
Were all in pjs, DW is on one sofa flicking through her laptop, and playing on the switch.
I'm sat on the other sofa with the tub of celebrations.
Dd (10) is in her bedroom, probably face timing her best mate.
It's my turn to wash up, and then I fully intend on being asleep by 9 I'm sooo tired.

I had a feeling I shouldn't have read this thread. Of course I am aware that all evenings aren't as lovely as yours all sound tonight but I feel sad. Lone parent here with one DD (13) and DS (10) . It's bone crushingly lonely doing dinner / cleaning / bedtimes on your own every night. Both of them are also screen obsessed and DD is in a permanent mood at the moment so I don't even feel like I have the lovely company of cheery DCs that I had a few years ago. Anyway.. toad in the hole for dinner. DS on fortnite. Off soon. DD turned down my offer of help with her homework and 'I can do it myself THANKYOU' so I am up here feeling a bit shit. Sorry to put a dampener on a nice thread..

Husband away so I walked the dog then baked a chocolate fudge cake as a basis for a Black Forest gateau pudding on Thursday, when we have a homecoming supper party for our son. Then the Tesco stock cupboard shop arrived. Finished a piece of work for tomorrow and put clothes out.
Now I’ve lit the fire and am having a rare treat of beans on toast for supper.

Dh is making dinner and I'm wedged on the sofa in between 3 dogs.

My lovely mum made dinner whilst I took the DC to a hobby, a yummy prawn curry.

DC are currently watching tv for 30 mins before bed. DH is on his way home...I am hoping he will be home after the kids go to bed otherwise he will let them stay up and then it's a mad house. I'm currently sneakily eating some chocolate on the sly...

Dinner was Creamy coconut lime chicken. We're on a mission to liven up our everyday meals with some new, easy recipes - this was good, I'd recommend! We had it served with basmati rice and corn on the cob.

DH has popped to the supermarket for a quick midweek top up
DD (15) has done her homework and is facetiming friends
DS (13) is on the PC gaming, avoiding doing his homework.
I'm having a glass of wine, and steeling myself for the "get off the computer and do your homework" argument that's imminent. I'm also realising why DH helpfully volunteered to pop out and get the shopping...

Hey @Lemonsaretheonlyfruit I posted above and I’m also on my own with the kids. Feeling better this week after two months with a horrible virus + work stress + stress with my ex. I’m still in the cheery little kids phase but moody teens are bound to follow in a few years. Remember these are all just snapshots of lives. If I lived next door I’d pop round for a drink 🥃

I'm a single mum too but I'm quite introverted so I enjoy it, it must suck if you don't though 😔

Baby is in bed asleep, hoping he has a rare night of sleeping through but I doubt it! House is tidy thanks to TOMM. Sat eating sweet potato fries with bread and butter (pure comfort food) whilst watching Dawson's Creek because I've discovered it's on Sky boxsets.
