Prince Andrews slip ups

he said LOADS of things during that interview, where he was telling the truth, and forgetting his lie.

the only one I can remember now though is when talking about visiting JE house in (Bahamas?? not the NY one anyway). a witness had said he went 4 times a year. He said something like; 'you have to understand, when you go into one of those places...'

that's not how you talk about a friend's house. what are 'those places'?

I must admit it's hard to square a £250,000 income with a £13million property, isn't it?

So if he loses his income, will mummy pay for him?

How do these people support themselves if not from HM?

Charles has the Duchy of Cornwall & supports himself, Camilla & his two sons & their families from that doesn't he?

SirHumphreyDrinkalot · 21/11/2019 09:29

Who is going to pay for the interesting clothes that the York girls wear now?

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 21/11/2019 09:31

Their husbands?

JemimaTab
I think I'm right in saying that the DC of sons of the Monarch automatically become HRH, whereas the DC of daughters of the Monarch do not.

But of course, Edward and Sophie decided not to lumber their DC with the HRH, and use a lesser title. I think the Queen offered something to Anne's first husband so that her DC would have a title, and they refused, so that they could be private citizens.

My understanding (might be wrong!) is that Archie would be entitled to use HRH once Charles becomes King.

VanGoghsDog · 21/11/2019 09:40

I suspect his savings would preclude him from claiming universal credit. And I thought we didn't want him supported by the tax payer anyway?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 21/11/2019 09:46

So if he loses his income, will mummy pay for him?

Undoubtably

How do these people support themselves if not from HM?

We've already seen the route Andrew takes if he wants "extra"; there are also Charles's charged-for dinners "in support of his charities", Peter Phillip's oh-so-convenient (and untendered) granting of the Patrons Lunch contract and doubtless countless others

Does anyone seriously doubt that they'll chisel their way into absolutely anything they choose if it suits in the slightest way?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 21/11/2019 09:49

Oh, and one of the most distaseful chiselling incidents of all: www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/queen-tried-to-use-state-poverty-fund-to-heat-buckingham-palace-2088179.html

Only too easy to see that the overall attitude comes straight from the top ...

diddl · 21/11/2019 10:17

Who does pay the bills for BP though?

Presumably not HM as it's not her private residence?

I agree about where the overall attitude comes from though.

I read somewhere that Frogmore House had been mothballed for Philip should HM predecease him.

I mean, that huge place for one guy!

He could easily fit in with one of his kids!Grin

Well, they could all probably fit in just either Sandringham or Balmoral!

But I guess they each need a massive place with staff because of who they are!

Shock Unbelievable.

ThatLibraryMiss · 21/11/2019 12:06

To another Kazakh oligarch perhaps, and for much more than it's worth?

I doubt it. I reckon his ultra-rich "friends" will be melting away, not because they find him reprehensible but because he no longer has the power and influence that he had, say, a month ago so his usefulness no longer outweighs his obnoxiousness.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 21/11/2019 12:58

I read somewhere that Frogmore House had been mothballed for Philip should HM predecease him. I mean, that huge place for one guy!

I must admit that's a new one on me - I thought he was staying on at Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate

Though even that seems a bit odd; no doubt it's nice and quiet there, but surely there's somewhere available at Windsor if he wanted to be near his wife?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 21/11/2019 13:05

That's a very good point, ThatLibraryMiss, though it does presuppose that all areas of influence will have been stripped from him and we don't know if that's so

Generally speakng the RF seem to concede the very least they can get away with, so I'll be surprised if he now has nothing which dodgy oligarchs - and worse - would want

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 21/11/2019 13:10

Yes I very much doubt he'll just be sitting back in an armchair in front of the fire looking for patterns in the flames.

He'll still have the power of being an intermediary between person A meeting person B. He has expertise in putting people together (which he learned from Epstein) and can make off the record 'suggestions'.

VanGoghsDog · 21/11/2019 15:24

but surely there's somewhere available at Windsor if he wanted to be near his wife?

Why would he want to be near a dead person?

astralweaks · 21/11/2019 15:31

He is an arrogant, pompous git and I am happy to imagine how crushed he must feel. His pride has taken a massive hit. About time.

astralweaks · 21/11/2019 15:32

PA, that is.

LittleSweet · 21/11/2019 15:46

I understand that as an over privileged, arrogant prince, the girls that Epstein abused would be like servants in his mind, not 'one of us'. Which was explained by his answers in the interview. But what I don't understand is the girls at Beatrice's party were children of his contemporaries, so a similar level to him, yet he invited Epstein. Did he give Epstein a set of rules about these girls and how to behave?
I just don't understand as a father to girls a similar age as Epstein's victims how he was able to not have any empathy. When he was asked if there was anything to add, he didn't even think about the victims, even with the prompt. Along with the racist comment, his behaviour feels very us and them, like the colonial times.
Even though the Queen has withdrawn him from his duties, I don't think that it's enough. He's getting away with it. Why are the authorities afraid to question him? Why is he not being pressured to release the documentation from his security officers, therefore proving where he was?

x2boys · 21/11/2019 16:14

None of them probably viewed the victims as human being,s with feelings of their own, they probably just viewed them as servants to serve them sexually ,the girls at Beatrice,s party however are on a different level i assume ?

ihatethecold · 21/11/2019 16:15

@babydog
the royal protection officers need investigating, for covering this up for years

RP officers have to sign a confidentiality contract when they start working at RASP (Royalty & Specialist protection)

Thats why none have come out of the woodwork and publicly given interviews or comments.

Dowser · 21/11/2019 16:31

Looks like it’s business as usual then

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7710285/Prince-Andrew-smiling-waving-breaks-cover-time-Queen-sacked-him.html

Dowser · 21/11/2019 16:32

Obviously the queen didn’t smack his bottom hard enough 😡

Rosielily · 21/11/2019 16:38

What on earth are they thinking of? Angry

WineOrGinOrBoth · 21/11/2019 16:40

Diana did not have royal protection officers at the time of her death so how can they be investigated for something they had no control over. She got into a car with a drunk driver & didn’t wear a seat belt.

diddl · 21/11/2019 16:45

It's not a Royal duty though is it?

He's not going to stop doing pitch@palace unless all the sponsors pull out is he?

Re the businesses that are only cutting ties now-why?

They hung on for as long as possible, didn't they-and some still are!!

ajandjjmum · 21/11/2019 17:32

It is a pity that so many entrepreneurs who apparently gained business from Pitch@Palace should lose out - but I doubt many supporters will want to maintain the association, for understandable reasons.
