Err. - don't do it!!

Defrost it first.

JulietTango · 17/11/2019 11:19

Don't

Defrost first

ICanTuckMyBoobsInMyPockets · 17/11/2019 11:20

🤮🤮🤮🤮

HironsBirons · 17/11/2019 11:20

Defrost it first

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 17/11/2019 11:21

Yeah you can’t do that!

Winterdaysarehere · 17/11/2019 11:22

Who are you trying to kill? Are you looking for alibis?

Doyoumind · 17/11/2019 11:25

You can't. Not even partially frozen. Go and buy something fresh.

DartmoorChef · 17/11/2019 11:25

You can't do that. The outside will be cooked while the middle is still frozen. Poultry and pork must always be defrosted prior to cooking. If you are in a rush, cut the chicken into 4 with kitchen scissors, then put in cold water for a couple of hours. But still check it is defrosted thoroughly.

wildhairdontcare · 17/11/2019 11:30

Don't!

CatUnderTheStairs · 17/11/2019 11:49

Well Iceland sell cook frozen chickens.

CatUnderTheStairs · 17/11/2019 11:52

And I'd go to pizza Express for an alibi.. ..

If Iceland indeed sell cook from frozen whole chickens just follow the instructions...?

Or rather, if they are selling cook from frozen pieces, they're okay...mostly because they're half cooked already when they froze them...

Do not cook a whole chicken from frozen, as others have said, you'll have barely defrosted the middle before the outside is cooked. Assuming you manage to cook all without killing anyone it will be foul.

Winkywoop · 17/11/2019 11:55

Follow the instructions on the pack then?

Good luck...

Igmum · 17/11/2019 12:00

No, really don't OP. Yes, it could kill you. Yes, it could make you very ill indeed. Defrost it. If you can't defrost it in time today have pasta or pizzas - anything- and eat it tomorrow. It's just not worth risking it.

Angie6868 · 17/11/2019 12:05

Iceland might sell cooked frozen chickens, but not raw chickens to cook from frozen. Don't do it. You'll end up with severe did poisoning

Angie6868 · 17/11/2019 12:06

Food poisoning

gamerchick · 17/11/2019 12:07

Use your defrost setting on your microwave if you have one. Still takes a bit of time but not like waiting all day.

CatUnderTheStairs · 17/11/2019 12:09

I think defrosting a whole chicken in the microwave would be just as bad as cooking it. If not worse.

OP posts:
gamerchick · 17/11/2019 12:09

Iceland sell chicken portions you can cook from frozen I think. It's not a whole chicken.

gamerchick · 17/11/2019 12:12

As bad a cooking from frozen? We could do a challenge and see who ends up ill. Since I'm already know that it's fine, I'm pretty confident.

I'll give you good odds Wink

TheQueef · 17/11/2019 12:13

Have you a meat thermometer?
I cook a chicken 1.6 kg in a crock pot in the oven for 2.5 hrs last hour lid off.
Instant pot under pressure 65 mins with small cup of stock.

NorthernSpirit · 17/11/2019 12:13

God are you on a death wish? Do not cook poultry from frozen. Defrost it (do not microwave) and then cook.

CatUnderTheStairs · 17/11/2019 12:13

www.iceland.co.uk/p/highbury-whole-chicken-2.0kg/63308.html#start=

Cooking g instructions at bottom of page. Mines a fresh M&s one I put in the freezer.

General consensus seems to be no thoughhh

Angie6868 · 17/11/2019 12:17

I stand corrected. I wouldn't risk it though
