The writing that looks like ‘Ch Ch’ to me is the entry I’m interested in. This the parish from which the person was admitted, the next part is who ordered the admission

Any ideas?

Christ Church?

IWorkAtTheCheescakeFactory · 16/11/2019 19:49

Is it place names? A few rows down I can read “Carlisle” but that is also a surname. The row you are asking about is it “something mouth” (like yarnmouth but it doesn’t look like yarn)

Rugbycomet · 16/11/2019 19:50

Christ Church Barbados...or maybe 6th?

IWorkAtTheCheescakeFactory · 16/11/2019 19:50

Oh it’s surnames. I can see Webb further down.

Fremantle?

CoffeeBeansGalore · 16/11/2019 19:52

Can you show more to help identify letters etc? I thought it looked like .... Carlisle, transfer from . . .

IWorkAtTheCheescakeFactory · 16/11/2019 19:52

Fremont? Freemount?

Welliesandpyjamas · 16/11/2019 19:52

Trenmouth or Frenmouth?

Disfordarkchocolate · 16/11/2019 19:55

Gharvy??
Carlisle

BabbleBee · 16/11/2019 19:55

I’ll try and take a wider picture.

It’s the line Ch Ch I need to know to work out if it’s possibly my relative.

Wilkins
Carlisle

Frenmouth?
Cherry?
Carlisle
Master John Gilly?
“ “ “
Webb

IWorkAtTheCheescakeFactory · 16/11/2019 19:58

What name would make it your relative?

BabbleBee · 16/11/2019 19:59

The first image is the list of names which shows letter shapes.

I agree one entry looks like Carlisle, it’s the one under that I’m interested in.

I thought it starts with either a J or F? This is Southwark, London Union so admissions from neighbouring areas I would’ve thought?

Could it be Iremouth? The end of the word is definitely mouth.

LauraMipsum · 16/11/2019 20:00

Ch Ch is usually an abbreviation of Christ Church.

The next column looks like

Fremouth
Cherry
Carlisle
.... from .....
Webb

livingmyslothlife · 16/11/2019 20:00

Master from ...?

BabbleBee · 16/11/2019 20:00

Frinmouth or (something)- rinmouth.
Jrinmouth, irinmouth. Not sure!

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 16/11/2019 20:02

Ironmouth?

BabbleBee · 16/11/2019 20:03

Christ Church could make sense - it was a part of Southwark if Google is right.

Which means it is unlikely to be her.

The writer's Js and Fs look very different. I think it is a T. Look at where they have written Thomas.

IWorkAtTheCheescakeFactory · 16/11/2019 20:04

Going by the other picture the first letter isn’t a J or an F and I dong think it’s a T so Iremouth could be right. I can’t see any examples of a capital I on the other photo though to compare.

Marmite27 · 16/11/2019 20:05

I thought Cherry Carlisle too.

Grimbles · 16/11/2019 20:06

So just to clarify, the Ch Ch is the parish?

IWorkAtTheCheescakeFactory · 16/11/2019 20:06

Actually it does look like a T when comparing to the other photo (there’s a Thomas under October on the top line)
