Can anyone decipher this handwriting- workhouse records

The writing that looks like ‘Ch Ch’ to me is the entry I’m interested in. This the parish from which the person was admitted, the next part is who ordered the admission

Any ideas?

This column is ‘By Whose Order Admitted’ - a place name doesn’t make sense does it?

Yes, Ch Ch is the parish which could well have been Christchurch

The second letter looks like an r when comparing to the other writing. I am pretty convinced it is Tremoutth. Looked it up apparently a valid surname.

I think the one under Carlisle looks like Iwanowitz.

Was she an adult and married/widowed? If so, it won't be her home parish, it will be that of her husband's.

On the next page she’s discharged - I think it says ‘To South Hosp’

Makes sense because it says “from south hosp” at the top of the column you’re asking about.

It’s a long story!

I’m trying to put together the story of my great great grandmother. She’s on records, has a daughter (but don’t know the father) and then disappears. I was hoping I’d found her but this is probably too far north. The rest of the records are Tendring and Lewisham which is why I was trying to decipher the parish and reason for admission.

Though can’t find anywhere that would fit. There’s a Christ church in tynemouth.

It looks like occuptations are in the second column of the first page as you can see labourer, child, housewife, nil etc. So it's their name, occupation, parish or area then who admitted them? Must be the surname of a doctor as Carlisle appears a few times so it would be a doctors surname? Can also see Webb so it must be surnames and as one appears more than once, I would guess it's a doctors surname and it starts with T and ends in outh

What do you mean, too far north? Christ Church was part of Lewisham, London.

I’m seeing Trevor/Trevour?

Don't forget that a large number of London churches were bombed in WWII and many others are redundant or have been converted for different use so might not show up under the correct name when you search.

I don’t know the area, I’d looked at Christchurch and got it as central London rather than Christ Church. If that’s part of Lewisham then this could well be her.

Trenouth? Google tells me that’s Cornwall though...

Definitely looks to be a word beginning with T and ending in ‘outh’
