I haven’t watched the interview, but heard reports of the content. I just find it unbelievable he claims he can’t remember meeting a woman he had his arm around! Despicable. Does anyone believe him?

How do we get his HRH title removed at the very least? Can you imagine him having any credibility anywhere or with any organisation now? I’m no Royalist but feel sorry for the Queen.

WineOrGinOrBoth · 18/11/2019 09:47

I’ve heard that too Lets.

rookiemere · 18/11/2019 09:48

I think PAs main issue is that he is monumentally stupid.

Even when that photo was taken, it seems pretty obvious that it's to be used as someone- probably BE insurance policy- and would suspect it's a hint of rather more damning future evidence. Why on earth would he agree to pose for it, arm round waist of rather young looking lady ? You'd imagine a little bit of self preservation would kick in, particularly as he doesn't drink.

It's so so much like Succession - absolutely damning in the way no one from RF gives two hoots about trafficked girls, only damage limitation to their own reputations.

Interesting that Sarah F has said that one of two ravishing actresses should play her in The Crown - more self delusion or a rather clever attempt to take focus away from PA and on to her.

I don’t think he’s stupid. I think he’s entitled.

longwayoff · 18/11/2019 09:53

@WineOrGinOrBoth, there are so many dirty royal 'secrets' that it would be hard to choose the worst. This, although bad, is far from the worst. And no referendum, that could very easily end worse than the current screw up.

Passthecherrycoke · 18/11/2019 09:53

He says he doesn’t drink but I wonder if he either did 20 years ago or whether he used drugs? The most obvious explanation for allowing the photo to be taken is that he was impaired somehow.

The pa gay rumour has been around forever. I can only hope he realises it would be better to be gay than to be a pervert, and would’ve come out if he really was.

merrymouse · 18/11/2019 09:59

Epstein association isn’t the only dodgy thing PA did, he was associated with so many questionable people while acting as Trade representative.

Agree and this has been going on for years, but apparently the Queen has turned a blind eye, or in the case of the sale of Sunninghill Park which was built on land owned by the Crown Estate, been actively involved.

Looking at the evidence, PA visited Epstein to do a deal to allow Sarah Ferguson to escape bankruptcy proceedings.

It's very unclear what went on, but according to this article whatever deal was done it did not cover all her debts and some creditors were only paid 25p/£1.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3189931/The-creditors-spitting-mad-Fergie-s-moving-tax-haven-Duchess-just-moved-13m-chalet-Switzerland.html

She then went on to sell the royal brand on QVC, and the Yorks were somehow able to buy a £13 million chalet in Switzerland 4 years later.

These are not the actions of people who are 'too honourable'.

Passthecherrycoke · 18/11/2019 10:01

Oooo Merry! I think that’s an excellent point (meeting to bottom out fergies debt)

Epstein is dead so can’t contradict him. PA can’t pay off her debts because his money is managed as part of an estate and has to be official to spend extent. Makes so much sense

Passthecherrycoke · 18/11/2019 10:02

Epstein was probbaly one of a number of wealthy people who contributed

JaimeBronde · 18/11/2019 10:03

I agree that Prince Andrew's behaviour has completely trashed the monarchy.
HM should be spitting feathers.
Whether she is or not is anyones guess.
Though Andrew may be her favourite son, the monarchy comes first to the Queen.

rookiemere · 18/11/2019 10:07

BertrandRussell it's entirely possible that he is stupid and entitled.

He visited DHs office once many years ago and the conversation he made and questions he asked suggested that he was not overly gifted in the brains department.

Passthecherrycoke · 18/11/2019 10:07

Would love to know what his siblings think. Especially Anne 🤣

WineOrGinOrBoth · 18/11/2019 10:09

I doubt somehow Charles will protect him in quite the same way as his Mama.

CathyorClaire · 18/11/2019 10:14

I’m no Royalist but feel sorry for the Queen

Not convinced.
One of her primary drivers is ensuring the continuation of the monarchy and part of that will be being consulted and advising on cover ups damage limitation when one or other of the RF makes yet another screw up. She's reported to have sanctioned this interview. If that's the case lord knows why when such things have had a zero success rate in the past.

diddl · 18/11/2019 10:15

I think that Charles has sidelined PA for a while when possible hasn't he?

I feel sorry for the girls though.

They obviously care about both of their parents, & to have them both caught up in this...

Passthecherrycoke · 18/11/2019 10:17

I think they’re going to be looking at it through a different lense. The RF probably have no idea how easy it is to dig up inconsistencies on SOcial media and how many people will be invested in doing this. I wonder if their PR advisors are very good, or just establishment Edward van poshos with nice accents. I can see the queen agreeing because she’s been advised that this is the way to go. She came under a huge amount of criticism for not addressing Diana’s death immediately and maybe that’s stuck

halcyondays · 18/11/2019 10:21

Supposedly the Queen only heard about the interview after it had all been set up. I don’t see why that would have stopped her cancelling it though especially with it being at BP.

C8H10N4O2 · 18/11/2019 10:25

AirMiles Andy and Freeloading Fergie have been at this game for decades. The Queen absolutely knows about it, but protecting the sucession is the only matter of any concern.

Victims of their "larks" are not important.

SunsetBoulevard3 · 18/11/2019 10:31

PA ‘s PR man walked out two weeks ago because PA wouldn’t listen to his advice.
I think PA is both very stupid and very entitled, as is his ex wife.
I was interested to hear that he said the family, i.e the wider family have been ‘very supportive’. That really jumped out at me. No one at all uneasy then? It appears not
He seemed genuinely surprised when asked about the impact on the Queen. It seems like he genuinely hadn’t considered that. Which gives the impression that they have been no conversations with her about it which suggest she is in any way disturbed. Fairly damming, that.

Passthecherrycoke · 18/11/2019 10:35

I do think his over riding Aim (apart from saving himself) is to keep the queen out of the whole thing

Puzzledandpissedoff · 18/11/2019 10:41

Charles will be spitting bricks - currently on tour with Camilla and nobody knows or cares

I believe Camilla has (once again) bunked off most of the tour, but given his own history of supporting a known paedophile Charles is hardly in a position to criticise the moral choices of anyone ... not that it'll stop him of course

Is this the worst thing the monarchy has ever faced?

I always thought they reserved that spot for the abdication? Not so much because of any public impact but more because, having got rid of one deeply inadequate KIng, it was clearly seen that the best they'd got to offer was another

Probably, when they consider the damage the internet's caused them all, they're just thankful it didn't exist back then

SunsetBoulevard3 · 18/11/2019 10:41

I agree but he should have thought of that before behaving like a disgusting pig. Then lying about it. He shouldn’t be representing this country in any way or heading up charities. He should be exiled somewhere and left to rot with no public money. It won’t happen though. I suspect once Charles succeeds he will sideline Andy. There is no love lost there.

Letstalkabout6 Yes, I know someone who served alongside him in the RN and said exactly the same thing. At the time there were lots of rumours about Edward, but apparently that was all false, it was PA who was gay. Although why that still needs to be covered up, i don't know, and how that fits into all of this I also don't know.

RhinoskinhaveI · 18/11/2019 10:42

How can he get it so wrong, he thought he stood on solid ground when he was on wafer thin ice

sashh · 18/11/2019 10:45

The NSPCC are distancing themselves, saying he no longer represents their campaign. Huddersfield uni students are calling for him to be sacked as chancellor.
