Pointless or The Chase?

Which one do you prefer?

It’s The Chase for me.

I once got three pointless answers in the final - I was thrilled.

I was also watching from home so my knowledge was pointless too.

The Chase

I like The Chase except the celebrity versions because The Chasers seem to pause really long between questions and get answers wrong that I wouldn’t expect them to, which comes across as staged.

I prefer The Chase. I can not fathom out what is going on on Pointless!

I feel completely the opposite! I can usually answer lots of questions on The Chase but have no idea at all how it works!

@IndianaMoleWoman - yes we did, all 4 of us got through and won a five-figure sum each and yes it was Mark.

@Nicklebox - I was always the person shouting at the TV until I went on, I had some really hard/random questions and a huge brain fart for things I should have known, can easily get 10 in the cash builder round at home and only managed 2 on the show, I was so annoyed at myself and before the next round when you're standing looking at how far it is to the bottom that top choice is incredibly scary, I went for what I had earned but I can fully understand why people choose the lower offer, the fourth person in our show did so and none of us minded as we had a good amount in the bank and it was nice that everyone won.

I like both but prefer Pointless - my toddler loves to dance to the theme tune for some reason! I do agree that certain rounds eg chemical elements are done to death and very boring

I quite like them both. Alexander annoys me on Pointless though when he says "They were three good answers" to the losers even though they were clearly not. He said it last night when every answer in the final category got a big, fat, red cross. How can they be "good answers" Alexander???

Dont mind pointless, but I've only just realised by reading this thread about all the chat on there. Now its going to wind me up isn't it.

Also another lover of house of games.

There are, however, 2 things that wind me up about The Chase.

When they say its easier with the options. Yeah there may be options, but the questions are usually harder.

Also when Bradley (or the chaser) says you could be playing for £100K now if you had all taken the top offer. No they wouldn't because if the first player or even first 2 took the higher offers and got through, would the chaser really offer the same for the 3rd and 4th person?

The Chase

Pointless. The Chase makes me feel very slightly stressed (I know I'm odd).

I like The Chase - it's a good old-fashioned quiz with a good range of Q's and a great added touch with The Chasers.

Pointless bores me rigid and Alexander Armstrong - who I used to massively fancy when he was doing comedy - makes me want to scream with his smoothie act.

Pointless for me! Love it! But never thought about how much chatter there is until I've read this thread, bet it's the first thing I'll notice next time I see it.

I'm with the person upthread who said they prefer ordinary Chase, but celebrity Pointless. Some of the celebs general knowledge is woeful!

The chase with a side of pointless celebrities on a Saturday before strictly. Pointless is annoying because the people who go first have a better chance of getting a good answer.

I used to love Pointless but sometimes the banter between Alexander and Richard is painful. I like The Chase but it feels weighted towards the Chaser as so much time is wasted while contestants wait to see if anyone else answers the question.

Now Only Connect, quizzy heaven.

I've only just recently found Only Connect, I don't like Victoria Coren much but it's a really interesting twist on quizzes and (hopefully) good for the brain to play along

Pointless because the presenters are better and the contestants less stupid (usually). I can pretty much answer every question on the chase (mum likes it) the questions are so easy

Ps only connect is the best!

I can say for definite The Chase isn't rigged.

The Chase. The questions come thick and fast. Gutted that it’s gone off air for a bit.

Pointless is ok when the question is on something generally interesting, but if there’s a topic you don’t know anything about you have to wait for simply AGES until they move on to a more interesting topic.

The Chase but only cos DH won £8k on it two years ago. 😁
