Pre-DCs, I had vile crampy, fairly heavy periods. The kind where you don't care how filthy a floor is when you curl up immobilised on it.

There was one when I'd gone to boil myself in the bath to help ease the cramping and I passed a lump of tissue. I remember seeing the blood vessels through it. The cramping did ease after, but I don't think it was the end of the period.

I know it wasn't a miscarriage as it was before I was sexually active (no visiting archangels in the months prior Wink). I can't remember when exactly it was, but it was either late teens or visiting home in uni holidays. I did have a vile period after northisterone, when I collapsed at work and don't think it was part of that one.

I wondered for years if it was something like a fibroid. Never happened since. I wonder if it was one of these...

How come this doesn't happen every month though? It's like a once in a lifetime thing or what?

managedmis · 12/11/2019 00:58

Just googled

Who knew eh

Seeingadistance · 12/11/2019 01:10

Wow! That’s amazing!

YoungHun · 12/11/2019 02:37

Good grief! That's what that was. I had one about 10 years ago with the most incredible pain. I didn't fish it out. I assumed I'd had some sort early miscarriage.

The pain continued for days, went to gp, rushed to hospital. It was an eptopic pregnancy. Never understood what it was that had "fallen" out of me. I feel a bit more at peace now.

Very traumatic time in my life :(

Oldie here, loads of kids, not heard of it either.

Aren't women and their bodies amazing! I envisaged a uterus being a lot bigger than that.

Lardlizard · 12/11/2019 14:02

Doing ok today, less bleeding that usual so that’s good

Wow. Never heard of it.

On a different, but equally fascinating note... there was a chap who when they pulled breathing tubes out, it removed a blood clot in the shape of his lung tubes(?)

My MW said your uterus is approx the shape/size of a pear when not pregnant.

Lardlizard · 12/11/2019 20:50

Woah that’s what a lung blood clot looks like? I had a friend that had blood clots on her lungs after childbirth

This is a uterus not pregnant...

Lardlizard · 13/11/2019 07:21

Yep looks exactly the same
