I've never heard of this before! Amazing! (and yes, gross too, I would have freaked the hell out)

pinkstar01 · 11/11/2019 11:53
Shock
nurseyn · 11/11/2019 11:54

ShockShockShock

LemonRedwood · 11/11/2019 11:58

I also googled what a decidual cast was and my first thought was, "How convenient!"

It would be a much better design to have to whole process only take a couple of hours and the whole lot come out in one go!

thenightsky · 11/11/2019 11:59

Fascinating but kind of gross, all at the same time! I never cease to be amazed at how wonderful our female bodies actually are. Grin

floffel · 11/11/2019 11:59

Decidual cast seems to be likely given the medication you took - check with your HCP.

You weren't exaggerating OP
It's bastard awful the first time it happens, it's scary.
I have had this happen maybe once every 4/5 years since my mid 20's. Mine isn't contraception related as I do not take any ever.
GP said it's just one of those things!

Frazzledbutcalm · 11/11/2019 12:02

noclue .... 🙄 .... it’s basically a piece of soft tissue .... massive is an exaggeration! 🙄

Alicenwonderland · 11/11/2019 12:02

You learn something new every day! Wow! I have never heard of this and I'm 41!

BreakfastAtLitanies · 11/11/2019 12:02

Woah, that's a bit disgusting but also fascinating.

I've had large chunks myself, never a whole wad though! I wouldn't worry personally, it's just the lining coming out in one big whoosh rather than little bits Smile

Thescrewinthetuna · 11/11/2019 12:03

I’m guessing decidual cast but have no idea really, just want to say that’s so gross yet amazing! Hope you’re OK OP

Mummylin · 11/11/2019 12:04

That would of scared me to death. I have never heard or seen one of these. Hope your ok Op.

bobstersmum · 11/11/2019 12:07

Never heard of this in my life! It actually looks like a mini whole chicken, but you did say you hadn't had any cock

Butterflycookie · 11/11/2019 12:19

Never knew anything like this existed!

rosesandcashmere · 11/11/2019 12:22

Well that saves the rest of your period! Looks normal as a cast after that medication. If you're positive you can't be pregnant you'll be fine

RomaineCalm · 11/11/2019 12:23

next thought was 'awwww... cute! It's a little cast of your uterus

how lucky are you to get a look at the shape of your uterus!

Glad it wasn't just me that thought this! Grin

BlackeyedSusan · 11/11/2019 12:29

Omg. Never heard of that happening before.

DowntonCrabby · 11/11/2019 12:45

Wow that’s absolutely fascinating.

OhMsBeliever · 11/11/2019 12:52

Wow, that was something to learn about while eating my lunch! Good job I'm not squeamish!

So does that mean you just have that instead of a period? Sounds much easier than a weeks worth of pain and flooding.

Fascinating!

WooMaWang · 11/11/2019 13:02

I had once of these years ago. It was agonisingly painful and worrying. You don't expect to expel what looks like your entire uterus in one go.

The nhs were bloody useless. It wasn't until years later that I found out what it was.

Lardlizard · 11/11/2019 14:24

Stop bleeding but not majorly heavy
Just normal kinda bleeding

Period pains that felt almost like labour pains have stopped now

OP posts:
Lardlizard · 11/11/2019 14:25

Still not stop !

Thehagonthehill · 11/11/2019 14:28

I had those most months, very painful. You don't need to see your go unless it happens regularly

megletthesecond · 11/11/2019 14:32

Not much surprises me. But Shock.
At least you know what it is now.

Straycatstrut · 11/11/2019 14:52

OMG reminds me of the whole postpartum period thing! No one warned me about that I was flipping terrified I thought my insides were literally falling out Shock
