Is it me, or does anyone else have an abundance of people in their lives who INSIST on mentioning the fact that either they run or that they are a vegan Every. Time. I. See. You??????!!!!!!!

It's not that I'm against said running or veganism, but do you really have to talk about it ALL THE FLIPPPIN TIME????

There. I've said it. And breathe.......

ilovetofu · 07/11/2019 20:04

Some of them are actually very good friends / family of mine... but wish for the live if God they'd just shut up about fucking running and not eating animal products!!! NOBODY ELSE CARES!!! Really honestly we don't!!!

I hear you about the runners. All. The. Time. So so boring.

And as you can see, I'm partial to a bit of vegan food myself, but I don't need to talk about it every day FFS.

Hmmm. Many people I know mention their children every time I see them. Or some always mention the weather, their job, the housework, Brexit. People have limited topics of conversation and they tend to mention (a lot) what interests them. I'm not sure any of those topics are necessarily better or more interesting than running or veganism tbh.

hazeyjane · 07/11/2019 20:06

It's all plant based diets, zero waste and park runs round this way.

mnahmnah · 07/11/2019 20:07

It’s the runners for me. My Facebook is full of people saying they are interested in, or entered in, a 10k or half-marathon. Then the pics of them after finishing. And their Strava maps of their evening run. Why?! I used to run. Never occurred to me that anyone else would give a shit.

AwkwardSquad · 07/11/2019 20:08

It’s more than mentioning, though, it’s evangelising and it’s tedious as fuck

ilovetofu · 07/11/2019 20:09

But it's running ffs. Most of us are perfectly capable of doing it, if we really wanted to. It's just waking fast. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

onthecoins · 07/11/2019 20:09

I've got a vegan crossfit friend. 🤐

ilovetofu · 07/11/2019 20:09

And I don't ever feel the need to talk about my diet to anyone unless they ask me about it. Honestly I don't.

OP posts:
HeyLala · 07/11/2019 20:10

What about vegans who are cyclists??

ilovetofu · 07/11/2019 20:11

@lazylinguist I would HONESTLY be more interested in hearing about their kids.

OP posts:
goadyficker · 07/11/2019 20:11

Tedious obsession with self improvement.

Like to know what any of these superior twats has actually contributed to the universe.

AwkwardSquad · 07/11/2019 20:11

They’re banging on about it so much I have actually got to the point of considering taking up running again in a tragically misplaced attempt at shutting them up. Which is obviously doomed to fail, because they'll think I’m one of them, and even worse, means that the fuckers have won, dammit

SnugglySnerd · 07/11/2019 20:11

Yes!!! Totally agree. Especially the runners!

goadyficker · 07/11/2019 20:12

Yes, kids are interesting. That they eat so much kale that they literally poo compost, less so

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 07/11/2019 20:17

Call it 'jogging'. That really annoys them...

hazeyjane · 07/11/2019 20:18

I would HONESTLY be more interested in hearing about their kids

What about the kids that ran the park run with their parents and then had a beetroot soya foamer as a treat afterwards?

managedmis · 07/11/2019 20:19

For me it's yoga

Oh my god I just don't care

ShirazSavedMySanity · 07/11/2019 20:22

It’s the superiority I can’t be doing with.
You’re vegan 🤷🏼‍♀️ So what.

I eat meat. I don’t feel the need to have it on my running top.

BarbourellaTheCoatzilla · 07/11/2019 20:23

I’m sure there is one thing that people roll their eyes at you at. You’ve clearly got a personal problem with someone.

LunchBoxPolice · 07/11/2019 20:27

I have a vegan friend. I love her but it does get irritating when she mentions her plant based diet nearly every time I see her Hmm She tries to convert me too, I don’t know why, it’ll never bloody happen.

FATEdestiny · 07/11/2019 20:29

I thought you might like to see my run diary for 2019 OP.

aliensprig · 07/11/2019 20:36

A lot of people I know aren't aware I'm vegan, they ask me when they see what I eat/drink, so I tell them. If that counts as "going on about it" then it's your problem, not mine.

Also, anyone who says they're vegan for health is obviously just a selfish wanker.
