Is there already a thread about the instamum dramas involving MoD today?

I agree with you How, having seen it from the brand end I cannot believe parents go for it.

BanKittenHeels · 09/11/2019 18:25

I might start writing to companies about my safeguarding concerns regarding use of children in social media campaigns.

I'm not sure how it started but I have a personal feeling it was slimming world/weight watchers and weight loss accounts and then it went batshit with 'mummy' bloggers aka 'Look I am just like you, having a shit day and now on the wine' - then they would bring out a shit sweat top with a 'Mummy' transfer on it ... then you felt like you were part of a club/crew/squad of worn out parents.

Then Hinch broke the cleaning 'thing' ... it snowballed then.

mustangsly · 09/11/2019 18:33

Just read it's her birthday today 😬 🎈

^

Imagine the conversation in the OD household: "Sorry, girls, mummy isn't in the mood to celebrate her birthday, she did something really, really shitty to her friends on the internet."

🙄

morningdread · 09/11/2019 18:46

Perhaps there is more behind the scenes that we don't know and maybe this has going on a long time.

ComeBackPeterComeBackPaul · 09/11/2019 19:01

Maybe now we'll see an end to all this #press nonsense. It's an ad, you're being paid, admit it. Would also be good to see an end to the ridiculous use of troll to describe anyone who dares to question /challenge the gross greed culture of these Insta mums.

RexDangerVest · 09/11/2019 19:03

Hope FOD brings out a cake with 'happy birthday you class A twat' on it

mustangsly · 09/11/2019 19:13

#giftedcake #pressdiscount

Figgygal · 09/11/2019 19:15

It's just all so disgusting vacuous
I'm so glad I've not fallen down the blogging/insta rabbit hole

OopsUditAgain · 09/11/2019 19:19

Hope FOD brings out a cake with 'happy birthday you class A twat' on it

I actually think that is how they will handle it, with FOD making a joke out it, and the FOD fanz lapping it up.

Her followers have dropped, what, 5k? That's less than 1%. Hardly a seismic shift.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 09/11/2019 19:32

I really feel for these fawning fans of the instagram 'We don' t need to work, we just advertise to you gulliable plebs' - they really think these advertisers are selling a wholesome, real to us lifestyle. It is utter bullshit.

I bought a certain recipe box scheme when it started out, maybe 4 yrs ago. It wasn't cheap but it was good quality and saved me from supermarket shopping and planning meals. I see they use these instamums now to flog their boxes - fucking hell, why not donate to food banks and refuges and do some fucking good to those in need? It is all about the shill.

cattaxi · 09/11/2019 20:00

Does anyone else think it’s no coincidence that Hungermama decided to go public about this just days before her recipe book launch?
Excellent way of increasing traffic to her insta just at the right time!

HowlsMovingBungalow · 09/11/2019 20:08

Read that @cattaxi - nothing surprises me these days.

MistyMinge2 · 09/11/2019 20:11

Definitely @cattaxi

Whilst I'm sure it was not nice finding out a fellow Instamum has been slagging you off online. I'm also sure they're not unhappy at the extra followers, clicks and engagement it has generated for them. All this #bekind #sistahood shit feels insincere.

BlackMUMba · 09/11/2019 20:19

Whether CB was a sex worker/'pimp' in the past (what's that got to do with anyone really), MOD is so wrong for the shit she's done. Black women are forever the go-to target for being called "aggressive" or using the "race card" (when in fact white people have used that play time and time again to excuse their racism and racial bias)

MOD's apology was crap and wishy-washy, no doubt people will still feel sorry for her and excuse this behaviour and attitude to her 'friends' as a mistake (eye roll)

morningdread · 09/11/2019 20:20

So FOD is claiming he knew nothing, maybe so

morningdread · 09/11/2019 20:27

The issue with both of the apologies is that it's kinda understandable to make an alias & defend/promote yourself although you could just acknowledge the lack of transparency re adverts. But why slate your friends/colleagues? I don't get the correlation.

ComeBackPeterComeBackPaul · 09/11/2019 20:39

So FoD has got his agent to write a nicely worded disclaimer. Apparently Insta is just for fun, while acknowledging it has taken his wife to dark places. And about your children FoD, you can't acknowledge the dark side of the Internet and then come back and shill them again tomorrow for yet more #ad #holiday #instahouse? We shall soon see how real your concern for them is.

Sagradafamiliar · 09/11/2019 20:43

So FOD's saying it's business as usual from tomorrow.
His followers are so sycophantic: 'does anyone even care? Everyone has bullied at some point' Confused

Tooearlyforcrackers · 09/11/2019 20:45

Sincerely hope he didn’t know what was going on because if that’s not true, saying that will come back to haunt him.

Don’t worry, he will be back tomorrow doing what he does: hiding AD at the bottom of long captions or on white writing on a white background, using his kids as props and filling his house with gifted crap.

Advice201900 · 09/11/2019 20:48

FOD’s Response

Insta-Mum Drama
jamoncrumpets · 09/11/2019 20:57

The agent definitely wrote that, the spelling is too good.

mustangsly · 09/11/2019 21:07

So they've gone down the 'FOD didn't know' line. Interesting.

Part of the brand is still fairly intact. At MOD's expense, obviously.

morningdread · 09/11/2019 21:17

Why can't they just be honest, it's not for fun. It's for ££££
