How big were your babies?

First baby weighed a nice 11lb 2oz.

I’ve heard they get bigger each time, and I’m honestly dreading the idea of a bigger baby. I was massive at the end and it was uncomfortable all round.

How much did your baby’s weigh? And did they get bigger?

DC1 is only 5 months and looking to start TTC when she is around 11months old.

DS1 born 9 days overdue was 7lbs exactly.
DD born 7 days overdue was 6lbs 9oz.
DS2 born 2 days early was 7lbs 5oz.
All natural births, but unusually I found my first birth the least painful 😬
I have huge respect for anyone who gives birth to 10/11lb newborns. My two boys were both long and slim proportioned too, my girl was just dainty all over, so I think I got off fairly lightly!

All 3 of mine were 6lb 9oz! Apparently that's the weight my womb accepts then kicks them out! All within 3 days of due date

I've only had the one, but she was a nice 7lb 4.

I always remember my mum saying that my brother was 8lb 10 compared to my 2lb, and his birth was miles easier.

Biglumpycustard · 06/11/2019 22:29

1st 8lb 2
2nd 8lb 10
3rd 7lb 2 & half

8lb 13.5oz
8lb 9oz
11lb 8oz

I had horrendous labours with the first two, the third was the quickest and most straightforward, I had him naturally with gas and air. Once gravity got him there was no going back (or time for an epidural much to my disappointment).

The consultant said to me a fourth baby would most likely be bigger again, but I don't think that's necessarily how it works. Frankly, I'd rather have a big baby naturally than an eight pounder via trauma, interventions and haemorrhage. OP, don't think about it too much, all babies and labours are different.

Both vaginal births with 2nd degree tears.
