Do you fill your child's water bottle the evening before?

I do, but I'm wondering how lazy this makes me.
So, genuine question: do you fill your child's school water bottle the evening before or do you fill it in the morning?

Just filled them up now. If I don't do it then I will only notice as we leave the house

RedLipsAndRosyCheeks · 03/11/2019 20:12

Sometimes the night before and sometimes on the morning.

Not very helpful!

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 03/11/2019 20:14

No it gets done in the morning.

Morning

Waxonwaxoff0 · 03/11/2019 20:15

I fill it in the morning, but I'm a morning person and do everything in the morning - lunches, pack school bag, etc.

Mylittlepony374 · 03/11/2019 20:15

Night before. Everything organised the night before or morning is chaos.

lauryloo · 03/11/2019 20:16

Morning, but I do lunches then too.

RomaineCalm · 03/11/2019 20:18

In the morning, I don't like the idea of 'stale' water in water bottles. Probably completely irrational.

In the same way I wouldn't make my morning cuppa using water that's been in the kettle overnight.

IdentifyasTired · 03/11/2019 20:20

Sometimes the night before, sometimes in the morning. It depends how many bags/kits there are to pack and how busy I expect morning to be. But as a general rule it’s best to do as much as possible the night before.
All this talk has prompted me to stop faffing about and make a start on it all (I hate the end of the holidays, back to endless packing and organising)

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 03/11/2019 20:20

They do it themselves in the morning. They're perfectly capable.

onemorerose · 03/11/2019 20:21

Night before and store it in the fridge until I’m packing their lunch.

DrDeluxe · 03/11/2019 20:25

My DC do not have water bottle. Just have a glass of water at lunch time of they are thirsty.

ColdRainAgain · 03/11/2019 20:26

Kids fill their own in the morning.
I dislike water that has sat about for too long - 18hr old water from a bottle tastes stale to me.

GrandmaSharksDentures · 03/11/2019 20:32

Approx 60:40 morning:evenings then
Guess I'm not too lazy after all Smile

I usually do it the night before and stick it in the fridge.

MrsJoshNavidi · 03/11/2019 20:34

Do you never buy water in bottles from shops? Hmm

lazyarse123 · 03/11/2019 20:34

For the pp who don't like water that's been stood for a few hours how long do you let the tap run before using the water? Because it wil have been in the pipes just as long as it would have been in the fridge.

greeentopmilk · 03/11/2019 20:39

No different than buying bottled water.

I do it the night before and put it in the fridge.

PixieDustt · 03/11/2019 20:40

Surely that isn't enough fluids through out the school day?

megletthesecond · 03/11/2019 20:41

Morning.
Another irrational stale water avoider here.

YabaDabaBoo · 03/11/2019 20:41

I get all their uniform ready and get the water bottles out the night before. Don’t actually fill them until the morning. I’m a bit weird with that. I won’t drink water if it’s been sat in a glass for more than an hour and definitely wouldn’t drink from the night before.

Wheat2Harvest · 03/11/2019 20:45

In the morning. I don't like the idea of 'stale' water in the bottles either.

Granted the water in the bottles when they're bought has been there a while but the bottles are new, and they're sealed. When I refill I'm always a bit concerned about bacteria multiplying overnight in case something like a food particle in the bottle or lodged in the cap has been missed, especially if the room is warm.

Beautiful3 · 03/11/2019 20:46

I do ours in the morning as we dont like stale water from the day before.

RedEarphones · 03/11/2019 20:46

If I remember the night before, if not it goes to school empty and the teacher fills it up for her. We're not the only ones that forget Wink

hariboismydrug · 03/11/2019 20:47

Evening then stick it in the freezer. She hates water unless it's icy cold
