Hard hat donned. Shoulders broadened. Ready for MN honest opinion.
I've seen enough Facebook tat threads, I do not want my stuff featured on them.
I've been learning dot art and wondered if my bits are good enough to sell. I'm being really brave and posting here to get a feel for if they are shite or not.
Be honest, I can take it (I have wine in the fridge)

Thank you! Very helpful feedback. So glad I started this threadSmile

Like them but the holly on the plates are slightly odd shape and the star makes me think of a starfish, not a Christmas star. Would use blue and white perhaps?

Preferpetstopeople · 04/11/2019 12:55

I definitely like the trees!

themental · 04/11/2019 16:28

Op! I was thinking about this thread because I felt a bit bad for being the only one who said anything remotely negative 🙈

BUT can you do nordic designs? You know like those christmas jumpers that are coming back in just now?

That's something me (as a self-proclaimed tat hater) would definitely be drawn to, and also something that you don't see much of in the cheaper shops.

Nordic stuff just seems a bit more adulty to me, and a bit less childish, which is what the holly and the stars etc were saying to me.

I'm thinking navys, reds, greys, silvers and golds, whites etc.

Now that I would buy 😊 although if you're not in London I think the £7 a pp suggested is a bit cray. But definitely the £5ish mark at a nice Christmas market.

themental · 04/11/2019 16:32

A bit like this.

You could probably use knitting patterns too and just follow the grid. Drops has hundreds of free ones.

Feel free to tell me to shutup, but I would def buy a dish if you could do that WinkGrin

I really like the little trees and the smaller dishes, I don't go for monogrammed items so wouldn't buy those but you have a talent and they are definitely not tat! Well done OP

TheQueef · 04/11/2019 16:36

Do more tree type designs. Reindeer or summat else christmassy. They are really nice.

spiderlight · 04/11/2019 16:55

I really like the trees, especially the top left two.

HeatedDryer · 04/11/2019 19:19

Oh more replies, thank you!
@themental don't worry, I really didn't take offence! I wanted honest opinions and they have all been useful. I guess the possibilities are endless, and I will have a go at something nordic just for youGrin Will post it here once its done.
Reindeers I could try too. And someone mentioned a smaller more Christmassy star, which I will also try.

I really appreciate all the replies, and am very pleasantly surprised by the positive comments.

I love the trees.

I wouldn't buy any Christmas plates or bowls as they are not my thing.

itsabongthing · 04/11/2019 19:22

I think you could hold your head up high selling this stuff at a stall or on fb, as long as prices were not ridiculous.
The trees are my favourite.

Ohyesiam · 04/11/2019 19:31

I am pretty fussy with stuff visually and I like these, Particularly the trees.

I definitely prefer the second version of the dotty dish. I can imagine buying these for presents and filling them with sweets, so the letter appears at the bottom as they eat them.

dreamyflower · 04/11/2019 19:42

Love them! Especially the trees. Definitely get yourself on Etsy.

Tortoiser · 04/11/2019 20:03

Second B is much better.
I’d buy them for gifts / stocking fillers.
You could do £3.50 each or 2 for a fiver, 3 for £8 type of thing too.

Tortoiser · 04/11/2019 20:03

In fact, if you do go on Etsy (or elsewhere) post on here and I’d buy a few!

FabLaura · 04/11/2019 20:13

I like them, especially the bowls. They would be the kind of thing I would expect to see at a craft fair in terms of design and skill level. I would be interested in a pet food bowl

Quirrelsotherface · 04/11/2019 20:20

I'd buy the trees as a tree decoration, very pretty. The bowls I may buy for the children but I probably wouldn't pay more than £5 per bowl.

SnugglySnerd · 04/11/2019 20:21

I love the trees!

user1480880826 · 04/11/2019 20:25

I like the little wooden trees but I think the bowls look a bit cheap. I don’t like how shiny and white they are and I don’t like your choice of paint colours. I suspect that’s all just personal preference though.

BlueJava · 04/11/2019 20:30

I love the bowls and the trees! I would like a nicer" ribbon on the trees though. But love both! Let us know where you are going to be selling them - or if you aren't allowed then pm me please :)

Nicecupofcoco · 04/11/2019 20:32

The trees are gorgeous op! I'd definitely buy a little blue set! Very cute!
I like the letter bowls too! The Xmas designs are nice too!

HeatedDryer · 04/11/2019 20:38

@themental any good?? No idea if they are actually Scandi/Nordic, I just looked at a few designs and made it upGrin

Would you buy these???
