The highlight of my weekend is a porcini mushroom Higgidy pie off the reduced counter in the co-op....what's been yours?
(I know I need to get out more...)

Carving pumpkins in the garden with my 3 boys and hubby - freezing our arses off. Then making crafty monsters and string pumpkins with so much more glue that I thought! Not sure the glue will be dry by Thursday!

Surprisingly watching RocketMan last night, home alone, a few Benedicts bittermints and a couple of glasses of wine. Really enjoyed it and I wasn't sure I expected to.

Today, choosing a rescue kitten.

DS been at uni for a few weeks now, has Aspergers. He messaged earlier and said it’s all good, everything is lovely there.

The extra hour of sleep, and not feeling like an exhausted zombie today for a change.
It was DD2's birthday yesterday, the look of excitement on her face when she came downstairs in the morning and saw the presents.

ParkheadParadise · 27/10/2019 21:03

My big sister told me in the middle of Tesco yesterday she's going to be a gran for the first time.
I'm so happy for her. She'll be a brilliant gran I can't wait.

New pillows on the bed!
Also, spending a lot of time with our 19 year old son.

Unfortunately it's been overshadowed by the fact that my difficult mother in law has invited herself to stay next weekend (not to see us, we're just a convenient halfway stop off point as she travels to and from visiting her friend. She stays, goes and then stays again on the way back for a few days so that she can also see friends in this area) and I've been feeling quite anxious. You know that feeling of impending doom...?

My lovely 18 year old ds has been on a fleeting overnight stay from university. We went out for a lovely meal last night, then he visited other people this morning, back to mine for lunch, then left early afternoon.

Thoroughly enjoyed seeing him! Then my great neighbours invited me in for a drink this afternoon. Smile

Had DGD2 and DGS2 over for a sleepover last night whilst their DPs had a night out. So much fun - and then the joy of handing them back!

Did a DIY job in the kitchen on something I’ve never liked.
It only took me about 9 years to get round to sorting it...

Like most things it turned out to be easier than I’d expected, so I gave the whole area a deep clean, too.
Now when I go into the kitchen I don’t need to avert my eyes from the offending article!

BastardGoDarkly · 27/10/2019 22:08

Pumpkin picking and carving with my dd, friend and her dds came too, and they all had a blast.

Also, ordering Chinese tonight instead of doing a roast Smile

TheDogsMother · 27/10/2019 22:11

The rugby result yesterday, a lovely sunny dog walk with friends today and yummy beef bourguignon for dinner.

Autumn with my baby boy

NewAndImprovedNorks · 27/10/2019 22:15

All the (adult) DC we’re here at the same time. That makes me stupidly happy.
I am sure other things happened, but having them all here..... happy sigh

HerculesTheBercules · 27/10/2019 22:18

A board games night

Finishing a marathon in 4:45. The toughest in the UK and today im a broken woman. My legs don’t belong to me.

feelinghelplesstoday · 27/10/2019 22:46

Have had a pretty shitty weekend. DP just been a complete arsewipe for no good reason. Feeling like there's very little point to relationship continuing as days like this are getting too frequent

tobee · 27/10/2019 22:48

My ds came home from uni for 24 hours yesterday evening and the 4 of us went out to dinner and had some good chats! Smile

tobee · 27/10/2019 22:48

And even some hugs with ds!

IHaveBrilloHair · 27/10/2019 22:52

Spending the day with my daughter yesterday, she's moved out now and I miss her.
Then watching Strictly Come Dancing with a few beers, it's my favourite show, and gets me through the winter.

Bunnylady53 · 27/10/2019 23:02

Family time this afternoon. We didn’t go out for long but it was lovely. Fantastic weather too after all the sodding rain! The 3 of us holding hands with no moaning, no arguing & DD even had a gluten free cone with her ice cream. The shop had come up with some funny Halloween themed names for the flavours too.

BeetrootBasil · 27/10/2019 23:30

On holiday. Had a lovely park walk today. Yesterday had a walk round a market town and bought a handbag for a tenner. The clocks going back. Family dog who goes nuts every time she sees me. Buying cheap calendars in B&M. Gorgeous surroundings. All very healing.

Miljah · 27/10/2019 23:44

Highlight: DS2, 18, has had a great weekend in London with DH doing arty things; Design Museum, Mithraeum, Antony Gormley, Olafur Eliasson, Uniqlo 😉

DH is not in the slightest bit arty. But he says he also had a great weekend. I am grateful to him for doing it as I find London stressful.

Me, alone, dash of wine, Strictly without a running commentary, and catching up with a good friend who, thankfully it transpires has been a bit off grid recently for sensible reasons.

Bad? DS1, Y2, Uni, not great with friendships- Best friend/flat mate (and overseas student) pulled out of room and course due to serious illness. He goes home, abroad, tomorrow. DS brave, but bereft. 😢

cheeseislife8 · 27/10/2019 23:50

Lovely to read these!

For me, a gorgeous autumny walk with DH and my permanently happy ddog. A really small thing but for me it's big, I've had a bad few weeks with MH but I'm feeling a lot lighter.

MontBlancHonk · 27/10/2019 23:56

A walk in the woods with my teen who chatted non stop about her life.

Sitting beside the fire with a hot tea, biscuits and a book.

Dozing in front of a trashy film.
