I'm tagging along to IKEA tomorrow - never been. What do I NEED to buy? Small budget, I'm just going along for the experience Grin

Crocodile shower mat
Mini Daim bars
Box of 3 shower puffs
Super thin front door mat - goes under front door
Duvet storage bags - great for storing sheets, throws and summer clothes
Plants got garden
Tea lights
Picture frames
Meatballs, mash and gravy!

Knittedfairies · 12/10/2019 20:57

If they've got the Christmas ginger biscuits in, buy several packets.

Nextphonewontbesamsung · 12/10/2019 21:02

I agree with coolcoolcool.

If you don't actually need anything, why go shopping just for the sake of it? If you do need something, can't you buy second hand?

The world is running out of resources!

Ravenrob · 12/10/2019 21:03

Daim bars and plants

LtJudyHopps · 12/10/2019 21:03

PSA Ikea had mini orange diam bars last week!
A bag of the meatballs for the freezer
They do those white frames if you’re creative
All the candles
They had some lovely artificial flowers as well
The cheese grater that has a bottom to it

Ludos · 12/10/2019 21:11

I'm excited for candles.

Will buy a socktopus too!

And Christmas?! Will they have Christmas stuff??

'If you don't actually need anything, why go shopping just for the sake of it? If you do need something, can't you buy second hand?'

I've had a really shitty time recently. Splitting from DH and been put on anti depressants for the first time in my life. Some friends are trying to cheer me up, sorry about that.

Christmas range is online, so must be in the stores now too. Ikea is only 3 miles up the road from me, a dangerous distance Grin. Have fun op!

beckyvardy · 12/10/2019 21:17

Which one are you going op?

Ikea is good for a day out people watching tbh Grin

Artesia · 12/10/2019 21:20

Ditch the tea lights, the candle, the Soctopus and anything else. Just fill the car with frozen Daim cake and chocolate cake. All the frozen cake. It’s amazing (and slices straight from the freezer so you can kid yourself you are only going to have a little slice and don’t need to eat the whole thing. Then keep going back for another little frozen morsel of lovely)

theoriginalmadambee · 12/10/2019 21:22

Have a really nice time, OP. There is so much to look at Smile.

CrazyCatLady159 · 12/10/2019 21:22

Glitterfox · 12/10/2019 21:26

Cushion covers and new throw and bedding instantly changes living room / bedroom

Plastic plant and nice plant pot
Drawer storage boxes

Ludos · 12/10/2019 21:26

DS loves cinnamon rolls so will grab him one for sure. and frozen cake for me

Excited about the possibility of Christmas bits Grin

Grab a big blue bag when you go in, and be prepared to buy a ton of stuff you didn’t know you needed. But that’s secondary, the best bit is nosing round the teeny tiny little mock flats. They’re amazing. The second best bit is bargain corner. Had some awesome stuff from there.

Ludos · 12/10/2019 21:28

Thank you madambee Smile

oh I might be going tomorrow too. . I was thinking of the Lakeside one. I've never been there, and am a bit worried about the M25 (just a couple of junctions) and the roundabouts and roads to get in to the parking. Is that going to be awful on Sunday because it's near Lakeside shopping centre, or is it fairly well laid out for hordes of traffic? Was thinking of going to Lakeside shopping centre too, but that would be even more roads and junctions and parking to navigate when I'm not very confident at driving. Anyone know that area on a Sunday? What are the roads like? Is the traffic awful?

I found some good small Christmas decorations there last year. They also have good house plants and pots, and some plant stands that are good for balconies. I might get another kitchen paring knife too. I like the boxes that fit in the wardrobes - big ones or shoebox sized ones, if you need anything like that to tidy up storage. They also had a good battery powered mirror/light for the bathroom that doesn't need mains sockets. Also got a really sweet watering can that is kind of decorative too, which I needed.

Some of my best purchases have actually been a couple of second hand Ikea things! I'm still considering a storage cupboard too that they discontinued last year, so hoping they replace it with something else.

Teaspoons also a good shout; I never have enough, even with about three packets!

MissLadyM · 12/10/2019 21:31

Tea lights!

nothingwittyhere · 12/10/2019 21:37

Gifflar - bags of mini cinnamon rolls Smile

Caramelblonde70 · 12/10/2019 21:42

I went last week to buy the over-the-top-of-the-door hooks. Think they're called Enudden or something. Anyway, was super excited, brought them home but they dont fit 🤬 my doors are too wide by a millimetre or two. So, I shall also be paying them a visit tomorrow. Might get a cactus for my windowsill 😊

TheClitterati · 12/10/2019 21:42

New duvet cover set.

CluelessNewMama · 12/10/2019 21:44

Ooh, love IKEA. Enjoy!

I went yesterday for some photo frames and bought loads of things I didn’t realise I needed.

Get a nice houseplant!

cleowasmycat · 12/10/2019 21:50

Shamelessly waiting for shelf pic....

badg3r · 12/10/2019 21:55

I was there today and can confirm they had Christmas stuff! They have good lightbulbs too!

KatharinaRosalie · 12/10/2019 22:05

Orchids. They cost nothing and bloom for ages.
