DH has said he doesn't know what to get me and I feel like I should be asking for something special. I'm pretty sure my parents have got us a night away already so am wondering what others got, not neccesarily what you think I should ask for.

We went on a big trip to several Asian countries and I chose a Chanel handbag in the duty free. Wonderful memories though the bag doesn’t get much use after having children

purpleolive · 28/09/2019 18:49

We turned 30 a similar time, left kids at home and went on holiday 😁 (that was our gift for each other, and our parents' gift to us 😂)

AryaNoOne · 28/09/2019 18:53

DH and I turned 30 a couple of months apart and went halves on a trip to Japan as our main present to each other. So on the actual day I got a book and some chocolate Grin

IdblowJonSnow · 28/09/2019 18:55

Nowt, I was travelling. I did however meet the man I went on to marry a night or 2 before my 30th so kind of got a husband!

Shannith · 28/09/2019 19:42

Drogonssmile · 28/09/2019 19:45

Dh took me to Paris for the weekend - where he proposed!

He bought me presents too but I don’t even remember what they were - it’s the trip I remember and being so in love...aw

MovinOnUp · 28/09/2019 19:52

I was married to XH and I got....wait for it.....Nothing.
Took me ages to unwrap I'll tell you.
(For his 30th (4 years prior)I organised DBB in a five star hotel, A gig seeing his favourite band, A new outfit down to the shoes and jacket and a 30 year old malt)

I'm 40 in December and I know my BF has booked a night away :)
Can't wait.

BellaVida · 28/09/2019 19:56

A weekend break in a chateau and a beautiful piano. That said, I got nothing for my last birthday.......Hmm

limpingparrot · 28/09/2019 19:57

A Fitbit, and loads of gardening tools and bulbs and seeds as I was in the process of buying a house with a garden finally ! I was thrilled Smile

TroysMammy · 28/09/2019 20:04

A hangover from hell. It was a colleagues leaving do the day before my 30th and I was fit for nothing on the day (or the day after). I don't drink anymore.

As my birthday is in January I have to wait a few months for my present from my DM. We went to London on a coach trip to see Chicago. It is quite a dark set and I nodded off quite a few times. We went to Planet Hollywood for lunch and it was during the night I found out my DM snored like an aircraft taking off. She was oblivious to the fact that in the middle of the night I screeched "shut up" and woke with my head under the pillows in the vain attempt to block it out.

For my 40th Birthday weekend away I took earplugs but forgot to give my sister who was with us that time the spare pair I had brought (evil laugh).

For my 50th I insisted on my own room Grin

@LauraPalmersBodybag

You need something better for your 40th then mastitis 🥴

LauraPalmersBodybag · 28/09/2019 23:09

@cultkid that’s the plan! My 30th was a carve up...I have high hopes for the next milestone.

CakeNinja · 29/09/2019 07:54

Dp bought me an iPad and surprised me with a trip to Rome and my sils and I booked a long weekend in Lisbon.
I also had a surprise party.
Other than the iPad I can’t remember what physical presents I got, the memories of the holidays are what I remember most.

ittooshallpass · 29/09/2019 08:37

I’m always flabbergasted at the presents people get. I have never received anything like the presents listed. I usually just have a glass of wine and a cake on my birthday.

Notquiteagandt · 29/09/2019 16:44

My dd was born a few weeks before. So I got a NT member and a zoo pass. So i could spend maternity leave there with the baby. Also got a breast milk ring.

However on the day I broke my foot 😭😭😭

VoyageInTheDark · 29/09/2019 17:18

A trip to the lake district and an engagement ring

raspberryk · 29/09/2019 17:29

For those of you who got engaged on birthdays, didn't you feel cheated out of a seperate birthday gift/like they hadn't bothered to think of anything so they asked you to marry them?
I'd hate that tbh.

Aria2015 · 29/09/2019 17:35

A holiday and an expensive piece of jewellery. No kids at that point so had the money! Don't think I'll be that lucky for my 40th in a few years! Was definitely hands down my best birthday though. I loved it!

WizardOfAus · 29/09/2019 17:43

A trip to Iceland. Was bloody AMAZING!!!

SoulToSqueeze · 29/09/2019 17:53

No presents just a few cards. I was induced on my 30th birthday and DD was born the next day so she was my present :)

blackteaplease · 29/09/2019 17:56

Dh got me a beautiful red trench coat and cloche hat, and tickets to a show in London for my 30th. I got him a piano.

userabcname · 29/09/2019 17:59

witherwings · 29/09/2019 18:10
