.. just that really. Last night i had a cheap bottle of wine and indulged in crappy telly for the eve and i were happy as a clam. What little things do you do, or buy yourself as a treat, for a cheeky burst of happy?

First cup of tea of the day. Smell of clean washing. A walk in nature when it’s not too hot or cold. Looking at mountains. And double bin day - when both the rubbish and recycling get collected 😊

Millie2013 · 26/09/2019 23:27

Earl grey tea in my favourite mug
Watching DD play at the splash pads-sheer joy
Clean PJs and bedding
Indian takeaway (we only have it a few times a year)
Spending time with my colleagues (we all work distantly and we have a fab team)
RIding my pony, it needs to happen more, but, time!
The first hint of spring
Christmas lights, or fairy lights in trees
Beachcombing for sea glass

Getting into my cosy bed with a good book and my cat curled up beside me.

Clayplease · 26/09/2019 23:56

Getting into a clean bed with the window open when it's raining outside.

Last cup of tea of the day with my DP before bed.

When my 3 year old strokes my cheek.

Autumn sunshine with a chill in the air.

Sinking into a hot bath when I'm too cold.

Catching up with a friend over a lovely coffee.

Walking in the woods, the air smells so good!

When DH brushes and or plays with my hair for hours! 🤤

newreality1 · 27/09/2019 00:28

My dog
Nice hot strong coffee
Nice food
Getting my hair cut and coloured

Stroller15 · 27/09/2019 00:52

My little speech delayed DS saying today (first time ever) that one of the kids at nursery is his friend made me so happy today.

My two boys' little chubby toddler/baby hands. And their soft, perfect cheeks.

Clean bedding. First cup of coffee in the morning. That time before the world wakes up. Feeling tired after a productive day. Making a meal I know my DH will love, food makes him deliriously happy. Daydreaming about my past and younger self. Driving with music. I can go on, I love the little things!

BoogleMcGroogle · 27/09/2019 06:39

Ooh- I love this thread!

The first Autumnal walk of the year ( mushrooms, scarves, boots)
Hearing my daughter sing
My sofa, a book and the fire crackling, with rain outside
Being in Central London on my own, especially with a ticket to an exhibition
Saturday night supper- toad in the hole, beef casserole, venison cobbler
Seeing my son's face when he makes a joke that makes us laugh

Finally...knowing my daughter's bassoon practice is very for another day! ( she's a beginner, I'm hoping it'll get better!)

Arrowfanatic · 27/09/2019 06:52

When my cat lays in my arms like a baby for hours and snores.
When my kids cuddle me
When i peform a kata perfectly
Laying in bed, watching star trek enterprise all snuggled
A nice glass of wine
When my husband tells me he loves me, which hes done every day for 14 years Grin

Morgan12 · 27/09/2019 07:24

Sunday mornings when the whole family lie in bed for ten minutes.

Cheese.

Playing board games at Christmas time.

Twinkly lights.

Bubble baths.

Chocolate and tea.

Playing The Sims (basically once a year now!)

The feeling I get after I've deep cleaned the house.

Buffets.

Bathing the kids and getting them in snuggly pjs.

Morgan12 · 27/09/2019 07:24

I did have paragraphs!

Snog · 27/09/2019 07:44

Yesterday:
Catching up with my friend and her son
The cat snoozing on my knee
Apple & blackberry crumble and custard
Hugging DH
Reading my book
Buying some roadside veg in a little village
Phone call with DD
Sunshine
Making and eating a super yummy bean chilli that even my DH enjoyed

xsamix86 · 27/09/2019 08:11

Such a lovely thread! Love seeing the every day things that make people happy!

Knowing that its Friday so I'm going to pick the DSS up from school for the weekend

Feeling baby's first movements of the day and knowing at the latest within the next 4 weeks she will be with us

My DP coming home from work (usually early these days because he doesn't want to leave me for too long in case he misses me going into labour)

Sitting in the conservatory of our new home in the sunshine with my one cup of (decaff) coffee of the day

Most of all seeing how excited DP and DSS are for baby to be here, and DSS telling me that hes going to teach her about pokemon and choose her clothes for the day (but draws the line at changing nappies). Hes 6 and the most adorable little boy!

Devonishome1 · 27/09/2019 08:22

When it’s time to go to sleep and it’s dark, quiet and cosy.

Poutintrout · 27/09/2019 11:41

My dog cuddling up to me on the couch.
Proper coffee and cake while watching a good box set.
Bath and clean bedding.
Clean house. Smelling clean washing that's dried on the line outside.
Laying in bed & listening to my two dogs snuffling & snoring. One of my dogs recently died and I really miss that.
Lighting a nice smelly candle.
Getting yellow sticker supermarket buys!

FiveShelties · 27/09/2019 11:52

Fabulous thread. Lots of things on here make me happy but the main thing which makes me happy is the noise the plane makes as I touch down knowing I am almost home ---- magic.

Back home with my husband and Sheltie - cannot be beatenGrin

KellyMarieTunstall2 · 27/09/2019 12:17

Walking the dogs and having a chat with another dog walker.
Having an evening to myself and watching what I want on TV
Sitting on the beach on a sunny day in winter watching my kids play
Starting a new book I've been waiting to read
Drinking a single glass of my favourite wine or champagne

Inebriati · 27/09/2019 12:25

Weeding a bed in the garden and sowing the next batch of seeds.
Harvesting from my herb bed and using the herbs in a meal.

Funghi · 27/09/2019 12:26

A share sized bag of crisps in the bath.

A full bath obviously, not an empty one just sat eating crisps.

blissa1 · 27/09/2019 12:37

FOOD!!!!
Having a Tan
Expensive Perfume
Fresh sheets
Clean home
Finishing something
Wine
DD doing my makeup n making me look like IT 🤣🙈
Having people around me that are loyal and trustworthy
Feelin Skinny (not these days) 😢

Kalim8 · 27/09/2019 13:38

The first glass of wine.

Secret chocolate. It doesn't need to be secret as no one else likes this sort of chocolate but it being a secret makes me feel like I'm leading some sort of badass double life.

When the cat marches up to me with a purposeful expression that means "now then, it's Time To Do The Thing" and proceeds to knead me until I say "are you trying to tell me something?" or "owowow" and eventually settles on my lap purring while I tell her that she looks like an alien.

Funny mistranslations.

Glimpses of distant hills.

Many layered views, especially when there are things so distant that they are a different shade, with yet more shades beyond those.

Being out in the rain, surrounded by silver and green.

Having a coffee outside first thing in the morning - that's definitely a summer one.

Silhouettes of trees.

Handling smooth conkers (not a euphemism).

Spotting little birds in the trees.

MarshaBradyo · 27/09/2019 13:43

Leaves turning red - makes me feel all the happiness

Inside right now whilst it’s raining

After yoga / exercise

Dc various little things like Liberty print hair clips and what they say

Radio 4 and 6 when they talk about ur play stuff I like

Noise of copious amount of birds in gardens

Kalim8 · 27/09/2019 13:43

Running!

A sweet view of low hills near my home. I call it fairyland in my head and pretend that my departed mother lives over there in a little white house.

Kalim8 · 27/09/2019 13:44

The smell of slightly burnt toast!

MarshaBradyo · 27/09/2019 13:45

Oh and a new leaf on any indoor plant
